Publisher's Summary

Tristan is one of my biggest clients. He always pays on time, and he always keeps his word. But this time, he's short on cash. He needs the shipment now, so he offers me collateral. He loans me his slave, Adelina.

Now that Pearl and I are so close, I can't condone this type of exchange. It's wrong. Inhumane. But she wants me. I can tell.

And I definitely want her.

Buttons and Shame is told from Cane's point of view, but Crow and Pearl have their own POV's to develop the overall story.

Cain Finds His Heart ❤️

What a thrill to have another taste of the Barcelli brothers. Cain is the main subject of this part. Crow and Button are also present as well as a new character that catches the attention of Cain. This book is just as awesome as the first three. And I can't wait to start part 5. Excellent storyline and intriguing characters!

I loved it!

Once again, I was impressed. The only thing I wondered was where Adelina's accent went when Michael was narrating her. I loved seeing a different side to Cane that we all hoped was there from previous installments of this series. I'm moving right on to the next one!

Crow & Pearl; Cane & Adelina

*****Spoiler Alert*****

Audible review. Four POV (Pearl, Crow, Cane & Adelina). Book 4 in the Buttons series. CLIFFHANGER. While this book is needed to set up the next two books in the series it is my least favorite so far both for the storyline and the narration. The majority of the book is narrated in an average American accent. (Michael does briefly adopt a French accent; Samantha briefly adopts an Italian accent, a French accent, & for all of Adelina's POV a terrible Southern accent.) Trigger warnings: @n@l; every form of rape; kidnapping/human trafficking/sex slavery; violence against women; bondage; and starvation.

Cane sees Adelina in the airport, shen he approaches her she rejects him, then he sees her again at Tristan's place, Tristan offers Adelina to Cane as a favor during a business meeting. Tristan tries to negotiate w/Cane for his weapons w/half a payment up front & Lizzie (Adelina's best friend) until he has the money, Cane turns down his offer, counters requesting Adelina, Tristan refuses but then accepts w/the condition that she is on loan for 31 days & must be returned when he has the total amount due. Cane takes Adelina to his home then takes her to his new home when it's ready. Cane put a tracker in Adelina's arm not realizing she won't run because Tristan also has Lizzie, her best friend since childhood. Cane tells Adelina he's going to cancel the deal w/Tristan & send her back when she refuses him; Adelina makes her move on Cane so he'll keep her the entire 31 days. Over a week goes by before they actually have intercourse. Pearl finds out about Adelina and loses it. Cane allows Adelina to meet with Crow and Pearl who want to try to save her. Adelina asks Cane for a pill so she can kill herself when he returns her to Tristan, Cane agrees to help her. Cane takes Adelina to site see in Rome. Pearl flies to see Tristan to try to buy Adelina, Tristan turns her down, but is willing to accept her in exchange, Pearl returns home, Crow is livid & grounds Pearl. Cane takes Adelina home to see her parents. Crow calls Cane to tell him about what Pearl did. JP

I hate Pearl now.

This would be so much better without Pearl. I liked her well enough in the last series, but she's annoying as hell in this one. Half way through the 2nd book and still feel the same. She's ruining it for me...

Amazing book!

Wow - this book is simply amazing! I hang on every word and can’t put it down! The characters come to life and I truly empathize with them. The sex scenes are exceptional! Highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next one!

Repetitive

It was like reading the first book all over again with different characters. Since it ended on a cliffhanger I'm going to continue but the story is getting old now. And Pearl has got to be the most irritating character in the world.

Cane is different than Crow as we know, it took me several chapters to get into this book but once I did, I was hooked.

My favorite book thus far in this series!!:)❤❤🤗😻

So far what I really am enjoying is first the fact that just because it was supposed to be Canes chance at a story that surprisingly continued with hearing the POVs of Pearl and Crow and then switches to Canes which is incredibly cool and I really didn't expect that. Most authors dont do that and it made me really like this series so much more and so far I have liked this book more than when it was just Pearl and Crow.
Second, I really enjoyed the way that the narrator did the voice of Cane. It was refreshing to hear in his POV.

That's all I have to say for now since I have not finished with this book yet and just had to say this first so as soon as I am finished I will update my feedback.

Update:
Well it was AWESOME and I am on to listening to the next book in this series!!!

Completely absorbed

This series is everything!!

From start to finish, I didn’t breathe, I didn’t eat, I didn’t smile, I didn’t do anything... ok, maybe I’m lying. But it felt like it.

For days, I was in a trance. My earbuds glued to my ears as I made my way through this epic, dark, twisty and angsty journey. I got little sleep because I just couldn’t put it down. I can’t even review separately because I couldn’t stop long enough between books to review.

And that is no joke.

Michael and Samantha couldn’t have been more perfect. They portrayed all characters so distinctly that I knew exactly who was speaking at all times and that couldn’t have been easy. They are truly talented.
