Fantasy and Folklore Collide.

If you like vampires… I’ve read the reviews of others describing this book as “haunting” I would have to agree.
This follows the journey of three women living their lives in a an oppressive male world. They each share an attraction to their same-sex. Their journeys are triumph, heartache and discovery. I recommend this book if you’re looking for something different, a darker fantasy rich in culture and folklore.

A beautiful tragedy

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The way all three women have their stories explained then intertwined is such a remarkable way to tell these lovers to enemies. Feeding on their innocence and love to gain such pain and pleasure all together. This is an incredible story and I hope to see this spark more books of the same world and family into the next version of the vampire chronicles!

Wow—from start to finish

A friend of mine recommended the title to me and I was enthralled from start to finish. Each of the stories meshed and pieced each other together without missing a beat. It’s definitely worth the listen!

Beautiful book

“You are my heartbeat. My feral rose. I laid you down in the midnight soil. I watered you until you bloomed. It is my job to tend our plot, and prune any weeds that try to grow.”

What a beautiful read! Her prose is just beautiful. The way she pulls you into a story and has you hanging on to each word like a lifeline. Definitely a book I'll be rereading.

Captivating

The three storylines were woven together so well. I loved the full character narration. I did find Alice’s story slightly less interesting than Sabine and Lottie’s, but overall it was the necessary piece in the tragic & tangled web of S & L’s love story.

Not even Julia Whelan as a narrator could save this for me.

The story was too long and drawn out. I really liked the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue but I just couldn’t keep interest in this book. I did finish the book but it never got better in my opinion.

Interview but angry lesbians

I loved this book so much it’s so good it’s so painful. There’s love and rage and horrible sense of stalking.

Schwab does NOT disappoint

Once again, Schwab knocks it out of the park. Sapphic vampires. Vengeance. There were undoubtedly some slower parts but the ending was delicious. I LOVED this story.

Soooo good!

The storyline was fantastic and gripping and thoroughly entertaining. The voices for the narration were amazing. Get ready to be immersed in fantasy and vampire lore turn on its head.
