Publisher's summary

I was supposed to seduce the dragon king, but before I could, he claimed me as his.

Now I’m chained to him, trapped in an ancient mating process I neither want nor understand.

I’ve got to get out, but there’s only one way to do that now—and it involves a much more permanent type of shackle.

I have no idea what will happen if I agree to be the king’s mate, but one thing's for sure…

My life will never be the same again.

This steamy romantic fantasy series was lightly inspired by Beauty and the Beast

This is a boxed set contains the complete Burning Kingdom series, individual books titled The Dragon King's Mate, The Dragon King's Hate, and The Dragon King's Fate.

Overuse of Skies Damned, had to push through it

It was a good story however very overused phrase made this a difficult read. It was annoying and repetitive and not always used correctly. Just failed on that end, the storyline was good and would give the author another read from a different series.

Not an acotar retelling, yet steamy and fun

Creative story and world building, plot twists are unpredictable and you’re always rooting for these characters

Slow burn

I liked that it was a boxed set. Had trouble getting into the story and relating to the characters. There was an opportunity for humor with the FL not recognizing objects and things in the new world but it just fell flat. I think the narrator made things seem more awkward and stilted than it would have felt if I was reading it maybe? And I didn’t love the male narrator either. It gets better as it goes along. But I much prefer this authors other trilogy.

Skies Damned Annoying

The characters, the world building and the over all plot were good but I have to wonder if no one proofread this book before publication and wondered why the hell the words “skies damned” was mentioned literally every five minutes. I nearly gave up on the story so many times because of it and I started skipping past the spicy portions. A lot of it was very unnecessary.
Lastly, in what world does Mayeir deserve Ophear? (I don’t have the physical book to see the spelling of their names)

Loved it

The telling of the story was great. Although there was an over use of one particular phrase. All in all it was a great series

the love hate relationship of the main characters was wonderful. I found myself talking to my phone while I listened to the book. it made me angry, sad , and happy while listening.
