Publisher's Summary

Seventeen years old when he broke my heart.

Seventeen days later when another picked up the pieces.

Seventeen years together.

Seventeen thousand problems.

Seventeen days of reliving my past and finding a new future.

Seventeen minutes until it all went up in flames.

Seventeen breaths until I took my last.

This is my story, and it's going to burn.

Good but....

The story is good and sweet but it became redundant (how many times do we have to know that she made the right decision? We get it the first time).
Narration - Jason is good as always. Ashley is so-so. She talks so slow that I have to speed up during her narration. Her timing is off too with the tendency to be overdramatic. Her male voice is great though.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

If you've ever been in an abusive relationship (raises hand slowly) then this is a must read! If you just want to read a great book then again, thus is A must read for you.. I too was in an abusive relationship for 3 years, he cheated on me, gave me a VD as proof of it happening. He lied, he choked me many times to the point of almost passing out, he slammed my head on the window in his car, he physically and verbally assaulted me and as hard as it is to say and for anyone I told to understand he did rape me. His reasoning "I just wanted to see how it would feel to overpower someone. To see if I could really have that much control over u." I was 18 and stayed with.him from 17-20 yrs old. Then I was done, I had enough and left him, it wasn't easy at all. Then 3 months later I ended up with someone I graduated with, 2 weeks later we get engaged and on 9/24/14 we celebrated 20 yrs of a very happy marriage. This book brought me thru my journey even though the story itself is different. BRAVO Tara, it was a different type of book for you. I loved the entire story. It was better than I ever thought it would be. We both ended up with our princes.
The narrators were AMAZING. I love listening to a book and really liking the people telling the Story!!
Thank u for letting me know I chose the right guy!!

YUP, THIS IS ONE HOT LISTEN

For two years Finnely had been happily in love with her High School sweetheart Colin but the rat b'stard broke her heart with a mere 'it's not working out' note and that's when Jordan swooped in, claimed, possessed and married her. But 17 years later her dreams had turned to dust, leaving her empty and knowing things must change..... but not all change is good because along with it came distress, drama and danger.

This was an enjoyable, but frustrating, listen with good narration from dual POV's - there was numbness as a marriage ended, sizzling chemistry as two once young friends reconnected, reacquainted and rekindled. Now, as experienced adults, hot hot passion, dirty thoughts and talk ignite as they bonded and then heartbreak as their HEA all went up in smoke. But I said frustrating because there was a lot of each person's internal dialogue rather than joint dialogue which sadly lost it a star for me.

Worth a credit? It was an entertaining hot contemporary listen about a sexy fireman getting a second chance at love with no cliffhanger ending and yes, IMHO, a creditworthy listen.

Dirty and sweet.

Very emotional, very well written erotica. There were times when I was embarrassed listening to it, which definitely proves how hardcore it was, but there was a decent, engaging back story that kept me interested from beginning to end.

Female Narrator made this one difficult

The female narrator nearly made this one unbearable. I had to increase to 1.5 speed just to tolerate her slow depressing tone and the way she drug out each sentence.

I feel that this book lacks a bit of depth overall, sort of missing a lot of detail on big things and adding way too much on others.

Decent Story

This was a decent story and the male voice actor was great but the female was not my favorite. She had a whiny tone that I could only handle in small doses. Overall, story was pretty predictable but a good read.

The story had the potential of being good.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I really wanted to enjoy this book...The story like is great, but I cannot get past the female narrator. She ruined the book for me..couldn't even finish it.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Ashley Klanac sorta killed the book for me. She read entirely too slow, and the voices are just not there. Over dramatic, valley girl and voice fry going on. Can't do that for 6 hours.

Was Burned worth the listening time?

It would have been with a different narrator.

Any additional comments?

Fantastic

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews about the female narrator, but Ashley Klanac did an absolutely amazing job! If you’re looking for a fabulous, erotic story with great narration, then look no further. This was one of the best stories I’ve listened to in quite some time. The story was hot and original, and both narrators were perfect for the story. At the end of the story I wanted more, and I think that’s a great indication of the book as well as the narration. I will be recommending this to all of my erotica/romance-loving friends!

Completely hooked from the first chapter!

This story grabbed me from the very beginning. The ex she escaped is eerily similar to my own, so I had goosebumps from the first chapter. Her connection to Colin is electric and undeniable, which is expressed perfectly in Tara's words spoken eloquently by Jason Clarke and Ashley Klanac! Jason is at the very top of my favorite narrators list, but Ashley is new. I really enjoyed her performance and look forward to finding more content. I listened in 1 sitting and was completely lost in the story. The characters are interesting and almost too believable (in that the situation is so similar to my own). Loved it!

I listened to this book in AE, but it is well worth the credit. I'm diving into Burned next and definitely looking forward to it. Well worth the credit if you don't have AE.

Great Book

In the summary its not enough for them to convince me into buying this book. So what I did was went online and did a little research on the book and get a little more information, rather then all those repeated "seventeen years/seventeen days" words which doesn't give much clue to the storyline.
Anyway, after getting enough comments from other readers and their story of the book I was convince to buy this book. I listen to it and finish it in a day. It is a great book, love it!!

Definitely worth the purchase or credit. Well to give a little spoiler, it does has a happy ending at the very end. Just wish the story would stretch out a little bit more (Just a little bit like another couple of minutes to half an hour), it feels little rush at the end.
