Detective Michael Bennett finally returns to New York City—and to the most unsettling, horrific case of his career in this #1 New York Times bestseller.

At last, Detective Michael Bennett and his family are coming home to New York City. Thanks to Bennett, the ruthless crime lord whose vengeful mission forced the Bennett family into hiding has been brought down for good.

Back in the city that never sleeps, Bennett takes over a chaotic Outreach Squad in Harlem, where he receives an unusual call: a man claims to have seen a group of well-dressed men holding a bizarre party in a condemned building. With no clear crime or evidence, Bennett dismisses the report. But when a charred body is found in that very same building, he is forced to take the demented caller seriously—and is drawn into an underground criminal world of terrifying depravity.

What made the experience of listening to Burn the most enjoyable?

The story and the continuing characters

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Had sort of a ricky ending when the plot comes together

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Danny Mastrogiorgio?

Anybody. He was not only flat in his delivery but annoying in his intonation. He practicaly ruined the book for me

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no

Any additional comments?

Doin't let this guy read any more books

Which character – as performed by Danny Mastrogiorgio – was your favorite?

I miss Bobby Cannavale as Michael but Danny Mastrogiorgio is a pretty good replacment.

Any additional comments?

Where was the ending? Seems like stuff was left in the air...Didn't 'wrap' up the crimes too well and next thing we know Michael is in Ireland.????

Not sure if I missed some parts of the story. I don't feel that there were conclusions to many of stories. Felt rushed and sloppy toward the end. Mike travels from Harlem to Brooklyn to Ireland, leaving at least 3 storylines unresolved.

Ick! Not the best
