Publisher's Summary

Getting rich is not a matter of environment, for, if it were, all the people in certain neighborhoods would become wealthy; the people of one city would all be rich, while those of other towns would all be poor; or the inhabitants of one state would roll in wealth, while those of an adjoining state would be in poverty. But everywhere we see rich and poor living side by side, in the same environment, and often engaged in the same vocations.

When two men are in the same locality, and in the same business, and one gets rich while the other remains poor, it shows that getting rich is not, primarily, a matter of environment. Some environments may be more favorable than others, but when two men in the same business are in the same neighborhood, and one gets rich while the other fails, it indicates that getting rich is the result of doing things in a certain way.

Getting rich is not the result of saving, or "thrift"; many very penurious people are poor, while free spenders often get rich. Nor is getting rich due to doing things which others fail to do; for two men in the same business often do almost exactly the same things, and one gets rich while the other remains poor or becomes bankrupt.

one whole salespitch

Absolutely no substance and no value. Having listened to another one of his books the gentleman seems to contradict himself. The only thing common between the two books is that he loves to do his sales pitch to go to his website and buy his products, might as well look him up online and if you are interested sign up to the "free"webinar.

A needle in the haystack thats worth it.

Ive read Many of these Self help books. Some try to be humble, some tell You to be a tiger and go out and get in no matter what. This has a good common sense aproach yet contains some info that. You may have not picked up off of Rhone or Robbins. Narration was easy to listen to. Some books may have had a great message but has a voice that becomes annoying. Great listen and I will actually follow through with some of the advice.

Not Going Back to Old Thinkijg

When I read this book at first, I was 48, had already given up on the possibility of being successful in any measurable way. the most success I had gotten on my own was becoming a substitute contractor mail carrier at the post office earning less than $30k/years. I was diagnosed with hypertension and left the post office to work at Speedway. Thankfully, I was still open to personal development. Then I did the exercise he suggested, saying I earn $65k/yr. Withing 2 months, I was back at the post office, helping with a route. There, I received an offer to do a difficult route for $70k a year. Even though the company lost their contractsue to unscrupulous business practices, the post office stepped in and offered me a contract worth $52k a year. Now, I also have. 3 business. Now I stead of being depressed and lost, I'm looking forwards to better and best. Thanks Craig

Not much content

A bit patronising and a rehash of old concepts, nothing new here and the reader is very annoying.

Packed full of wisdom

Thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook read by the author himself. Played it during the car ride each morning to school for my two teenage boys and we all got so much out of the knowledge and wisdom shared in this book.
