Powerful story of human resilience. The author's voice did take away a bit from the story. While I don't think the story demonstrated "whining" the voice reflected that tone.

At first I was a little skeptical about the fact that the author was reading the book herself, and that it wasn't exactly as polished and professional as you'd come to expect from an Audible performance. But once I heard her explanation of why she chose to record it this way, I found it lent to the authenticity of the story, and the genuineness of her experience. Who could convey that better than the author? It is completely autobiographical, after all. I hope you don't let this deter you from listening. You'll be glad you did.
