Publisher's Summary

The School of Necessary Magic is back in session.

Alison, the young Drow princess has returned to Charlottesville for her second semester, along with the other elves, witches, and wizards and more.

And her powers are growing.

But dark forces have planted a bad seed in the student body. They want to use their hidden asset to close the doors before the year is over. They didn’t count on Alison and her unique gifts.

Botany class, school dances, underground cities, and the occasional werewolf howling at night - It's just your average freshman year in a government-run high school to create a special force.

Just wait till school’s out for summer....

cute, but where’s the rest?

Nice YA story of Alison’s second semester at school that talks about her growing powers and those of Izzie. Add in a Valentines dance, an April Fools prank, and kittens and a horse foaling. The prank was cute. There is some kicking of dark power butt; again, not well developed. Did they follow through on the quarantine to search for balls of dark magic in students? Rudd does a decent job of narration.

Fabulous

I received this book free for an honest review. Alison is back at the magic school in Charlottesville for her second semester she’s excited to be with her friends again. Things are not as they seem and dark wizards have planted a bad seed in the student body to draw out some of the more powerful students but they don’t reckon on Alison and her skills as a Drow princess. Another fab listen from Judith Berens and narrator Kate Rudd can’t wait to listen to more in the series.
