Publisher's Summary

Millions of readers of Hatchet, The River, Brian’s Winter, and Brian’s Return know that Brian Robeson is at home in the Canadian wilderness. He has stood up to the challenge of surviving alone in the woods. He prefers being on his own in the natural world to civilization.

When Brian finds a dog one night, a dog that is wounded and whimpering, he senses danger. The dog is badly hurt, and as Brian cares for it, he worries about his Cree friends who live north of his camp. His instincts tell him to head north, quickly. With his new companion at his side, and with a terrible, growing sense of unease, he sets out to learn what happened. He sets out on the hunt.

Good Listen!

Any additional comments?

Brian’s Hunt is the fifth book in the Brian’s Saga series by Gary Paulsen. Once again, Brian is alone in the Canadian wilderness… voluntarily. In this book, he encounters a new adventure, where his survival skills are tested to their limits. He helps to heal a wounded dog, which becomes a companion and significant part of his story. Brian’s Hunt is just as engaging and exciting as all of the other books in the Brian’s Saga series. It’s a great read.

Book not complete

Once again the writer leaves off in the middle of a huge part of the story. And though this seems to be the last book, the way he ended it pretty much ruined not only this particular book but his last in Brian‘s return. Writer continually does this and it seems although they are in a hurry to finish the book or get tired of writing it.

Really unhappy with the ending or the-lack there of.

Awesome!

Loved the book! Been a favorite since I was a kid, but two main cons:
-the narrator did AMAZING. But he sounded kinda old for a kid who’s like 15? (Sorry, just kinda threw me)
-ew when Brian was thinking about that girl so much when he didn’t even know her. Like slightly stalkerish and creepy vibes. But nothing huge, not a deal breaker.

Love the book!

Hatchet series

The series of books from hatchet to Brian’s hunt were so good if I was the author I would keep writing more about Brian and how he survives again after his friends died to the bear
