fantastic book, Mr Bird! The best so far! I'm just sorry I've been carrying it around so long without listening to it.

All Stars ! plot quest vs NWO in the post apoc.

A danger filled mission through a post apoc world carrying items life and death items worth more than gold or billions of human lives.
The plot was solid, the characters were believable, the situation was threatening. I sill prefer the visceral experience of Steven Birds "Erebus" over this one but it is a gold star addition to his resume.

such a good story in the troubling times we live in. it's very easy to lose yourself in the story.

Outstanding page turner

The first of many books I will read, written by Bird.
It’s a great story that flows and keep you on the edge of your seat!

A man with a mission.

Breaking the Beast is a fast-paced thriller, featuring a great set of characters, some wild action, and an interesting story that puts a unique twist on the post apocalyptic genre. I really wish this book was longer or more accurately I wish this is book 2. This book starts with the world already in tatters and gives us an info dump on how it got that way. I have to say I was instantly fascinated with the ideas presented in that info dump and would have loved to have seen an entire book allowing us to witness society begin to crumble and to slowly have us learn what was behind the deadly virus that swept over the world. Alas, that we didn't get that, but what we do get is an action packed adventure as Joe Branch sets out to prove that one man can make a difference.

As always, Kevin Pierce's narration is spot on, pulling us into the story and bringing the adventure to life.

Conspiracy theory meets the Post-Apocalyptic

This is a nice break from the typical EMP story. Steven Bird has created a great story and Kevin Pierce is always a great narrator.

Fantstic Dystopian Future Story Amazing Narration

Breaking the Beast: The Redemption of Joe Branch is written by Steven Bird. The narration is provided by Kevin Pierce. Breaking the Beast by Steven Bird is just a fantastic audiobook. This is a possible dystopian future where a one-world government has taken over. Joe Branch is a lucky survivor of a virus that killed a major part of the population off. As a Former DC Capital Police Officer, he is conscripted into the service of the new Global Authority. The same Global Authority that saved mankind with an antiviral cure that holds the virus at bay. The anti-virus needs to be given at regular intervals. Thus keeping the remaining population in check and killing off those undesirables and deplorables who do not get with the global agenda. The story holds the listener's attention with action, drama, and plenty of mystery as the conspiracy unfolds.
 
The narration by Kevin Pierce was once again just outstanding. Mr. Pierce always delivers the most fantastic audio performances. The production quality of this audiobook is also of the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. Steven Bird delivered an excellent audiobook production. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The meds used in this book sound exactly what they inject in to my knees twice a year! I guess I’m immune now!
Kevin Pierce is my narrator crush so he can do no wrong. He is excellent and I just live his voice!
The story is great, loved it and loved how everything played out! I have listened to and read several books by this author and enjoyed them all. Starting another on by him today!
