Penelope, I know that it’s three o’clock in the morning, but I need to get this off my chest.

I can’t give you any more advice on landing this other guy, can’t tell you another “sexy” thing that you should do, or suggest a new set of filthy words that you should text him late at night.

As your best friend, I’ve reached my limit, and I can honestly say that he doesn’t deserve you.

I’m not saying all of this because I’m f--king jealous, or because he had the audacity to say that he makes more money than me. (I still can’t find his name on the Forbes 500 list, and I know damn well that he’s renting that Ferrari, but that’s a story for a different day).

He’s not who you think he is, and the better man has always been right in front of you....

You have every reason to never give me a chance since you know me better than anyone, and you agree with all the tabloids calling me The Cocky King of New York, and the Untamed Playboy of Manhattan. But I honestly believe that you’re better off with someone else, and I need you to see.

I’m not asking for too much....

I just want you to break up with him, for me.

Loved It

Whitney G. is gifted. Her back and forth dialogue with the characters is unmatched. Worth every bit of my time and the credit.

Great narration mediocre story

The concept of the story was great but trying to follow it was virtually impossible caring about not being able to follow it virtually not at all. Any success this book has is due to the narrators. Story could’ve taken place and 1/3 the time and even that is being generous.

kept guessing

Never heard of this writer and was not expecting much. On that note, it kept me wanting more. This book was very good on keeping you guessing. I'm looking for more from this writer.

Great!

This was a great book! The chapters were unnecessarily confusing. No need to try to put a creative spin on something like that. It’s one thing to voice between the past and present, but the chapter titles drive me crazy.
Definitely worth a credit though!

The banter was so fun!

I love the banter that Whitney G can write. The chemistry is amazing! Watching Hayden get knocked down a few pegs while seeing Penelope grow into herself was fun to watch. The amount of times I wanted to throw my earphones because they were “friends” and nothing more… ugh! It got a little muddy in the middle but the end was worth it.
Also I enjoyed the flashbacks. They really added to their relationship, showing how close they had gotten as friends.
Erin & Joe were great as always. I love how deep (heh) Erin’s voice can get, it matches Joe’s well.

Cute

Great book! Sister recommended it to me! Worth the slow ish burn that it felt like. Definitely feels like the type of book that makes you feel like nothing on your puzzle first unless or until you finished putting all the edges of said puzzle together first. Definitely worth it though!

Loved this one

I loved their friendship and the back and forth with past and preset. It was a perfect summer beach read.

Love The Writer'S Style

Loved the ending! Yeah, eve before it ended and will be reading/listening again. I also liked the characters. Sort of fell sorry for Penelope constantly choosing cheaters. In addition, having a brother, Travis, as a tree Dck. Overal, the story is comical and good writing. I enjoyed Erin Mallon and Joe Arden's performances!

Cute Feel-good Romance

This a really cute story. It’s a brother’s best friend/friends to lovers trope that stretches out over years while the change from friends to lovers happens.
The pacing and plot was good. The back and forth between past and present was not my favorite but it wasn’t a big deal.
The characters were likable and they made sense.
The narration was excellent. Exactly what you expect from Erin and Joe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The spice was around 2🌶🌶.
I wouldn’t hesitate to read more by this author.
