Liam

The moment Sadie Matthews walks through the daycare center door, I feel my world tilt in her direction. Again. I fell for her when I was 14, and I’m still not over her. Problem: she still thinks of me as a teen she used to babysit. But I’ve learned a few things about pleasing a woman in the last 15 years. I can’t wait to show her how good it could be. I need to move quickly before I lose her again. This is more than a game to me, but I still plan to win.

Sadie

I’ve just survived the worst year of my life. As a single mom of twin toddlers, I don’t have time for a man. I barely have time to finish a thought. Who knew that Liam McAllister would grow up to be so devastating? He’s everything my husband was not: tall, built, and willing to have a tea party with my girls. I can’t possibly get involved with him. He’s too young for me. Too handsome. But he’s so persuasive....

They knocked it out of the park.... Again!

This book is absolutely fantastic! I laughed, a lot, I cried. In short, this is book perfection! Liam makes me swoon. I sincerely hope this isn't the last we hear from Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby. If you are looking for a laugh out loud book you CANNOT go wrong here. Also Tanya Eby has added her voice (which I believe was created by God for romantic comedy) along with the always perfect Teddy Hamilton! Sarina and Tanya you absolutely cannot stop! Your quirky humor and smoking hot characters can make any day brighter!!! Trust me after reading this book you will never look at a toddler in a helmet the same again. You may even think about those older boys you chaperoned. ... Okay who am I kidding no one is that lucky! Is it at least possible to dream of being one of Sarina and Tanya's heroines? If it is I want Tanya to do my voice!!!!!

Even Teddy Hamilton couldn't save this one for me

I enjoyed the previous two installments in this series and was more than ready to hear about Sadie (especially with Teddy Hamilton as Liam!), but I couldn't get past a few things in this book. For one, Tanya Eby performed Sadie like she was always about to break down and cry. It got a little depressing. The whole premise of the story was a bit hard to believe in the first place and the authors didn't sell me on it. Finally, Sadie gets super-sloppy drunk on a FIRST date, with a guy of very questionable moral character (NOT SAFE!). It just seemed like a lazy plot device so that Liam could conveniently rescue her. At that point, I was just out.

Interesting story

Love Teddy Hamilton. Would listen to anything he reads. Tonya is too annoying to tolerate. Breathy and over emphasis on every word. Heard her in the past unfortunately forgot her name. Will never do that again or download anything that she narrates. She nearly ruined the book for me

Repetitive dialogue throughout the book

I checked out the excerpt on the back of this book and it seemed so promising. The audible sample was also good and there was only 1 review shown on it that showed 5 stars. So I had high hopes for it in spite of my last experience with a book from this series. Older woman seduced by younger man is a genre I one of my favorites and I've always liked Sarina Bowen. The difference in this book and Sarina's others is Tanya Eby. I prefer a strong, confident, and funny heroine who knows what she wants and what she's worth. Sadie is not this. She is a neurotic, insecure, self doubting mess who spends every spare moment fixating on every single flaw she has and feeling unworthy of Liam's attention. She is constantly putting herself down and questioning why he would find her attractive. This is a woman who earns a living as a psychiatrist? I pity her patients. Then you have Liam, who is a perfect Hero. He is mature (except when he is taken over by his 14 year old alter ego), sweet, good with her kids, intelligent, honorable...need I go on? His parts of the book are reasonably enjoyable to read. The extremely over contrived humor which killed anything that might have been funny in it was WAY over the top. The constant reference to a drink dubbed The Red Headed Slut combined with the resulting vomit it induced was a favorite subject to bring up repeatedly, Throw in a cherished stuffed animal named Piggy Poo (MUCH emphasis on the word POO) which is also brought up repeatedly. As if that wasn't enough, there was plenty of other raunchy humor thrown at us in a sad attempt to bring out more laughs in the book but failed miserably. Personally, I did not enjoy this book because of Sadie always putting herself down and couldn't finish it as a result. That is just my preference. If you don't mind bathroom humor, self deprecation, and ridiculous plotlines disguising themselves as humor then you may enjoy this book. I just didn't.

Sexy and funny! Great for fans of Alice Clayton

Love the smart, on top of her stuff heroine and the sexy, funny, great with kids hero. This is a fun romance about a woman who has serious responsibilities as a mom, but has a sense of humor and great friends. Listened to this book out of sequence when I stumbled upon the bright cover among Bowen's slightly broodier hockey books. Was a perfect stand alone and I'm excited to read the other books in the series. I enjoyed reading something with a laugh out loud sense of humor from Bowen and will definitely be seeking out Eby's other work. I sometimes feel like the minority in the romance community because I don't love books with excessive drama and unrealistic challenges. The day to day chaos of parenting toddlers and the post baby body image issues were a refreshing departure from billionaires, kidnappings, and tragic loss. The conflict felt authentic and I LOVE when romance characters can have mature conversations about their emotions and needs instead of putting off tough discussions or making assumptions about how their partner feels. There was a bit of that here, but it was ultimately believable that a mom would make her dating decisions more carefully.

Cute book

This book explores the older woman / younger man dynamic. The only thing I really didn’t like was the constant references to the “14 year old Liam”. The last thing I want to think about is a gawky teenager and an older woman.

Male narrator was great. Female narrator sounded older. Maybe that was intentional. I liked the narrators in the previous two books much better.

As the third installment, this was the weakest of the three books. I still liked it despite the things I mentioned.

Bought it because ... Teddy Hamilton

I picked this one up because I love Teddy Hamilton narrations! He didn’t disappoint in this book either.

The story was cute and sweet. There were funny parts and sweet moments. The story line felt a little choppy at times but over all, not a bad book.

A fun listen

A man who looks after kids? Yes, please.

Sadie and Liam are two instantly likeable characters, as are Kate and Amy, Sadie's little girls. The struggling mom trying to do best for her kids goes to put them into daycare and runs into the guy she used to babysit.. now all grown up and H-O-T.

Their past provides an instant connection that is deepened first innocently, then much more strongly. I loved how Liam fit in with everyone, and how they all showed her dumb ex, but it ended a tad quickly, and I wish I had gotten to see even more development from them all.

From how big the "age difference" was played up, it didn't actually feel significant enough, but it made sense for a quicker book.

The narrator's were excellent and brought the story to life

Amazing Romance!

I loved this book!! This whole series is amazing and I especially love this last book. This story is about Sadie and Liam and their story of love and romance. Let me just say this, I absolutely love Sadie’s twin girls! Again, like the second book I didn’t wait to get this book and bought it straight away after reading ‘Man Card’ and didn’t regret it at all. This book is amazing! It brings out the idea of an older woman and a younger man and I love how it brings out such a great relationship. Again, I am totally envious of both the relationships the girls have had so far with their men (the good ones, not the bad) and the friendship they hold that seems to hold on forever. I listened to this as an audiobook again, which totally rocked because the different voices from each character and the difference between the male and female narrator was amazing! I definitely recommend this book and this whole series in general, it is so amazing!!! I can’t wait for you to read it! I loved this book!!
