Publisher's Summary

Morgan Polley is an empath who helps people. When she meets Tor and his family of dying dragons, she wants to assist them in finding their mates. Except for Tor's. She wants to keep him and make lots of babies with the big sexy man. It's getting hard to remember her objective when her hormones go out of whack around him.

Tor Drachen is one of a handful of dragons left on earth, dying due to their mates being targeted and killed before finding each other. He's been told Morgan Polley will be a mate to one of his kind, but who? He's having a hard time keeping her at bay and the thought of getting her pregnant to start a family is a very tempting idea.

A breed of evil dragons is after Morgan, but Tor promises to protect her to the very end. Even if it turns out that she's one of his brothers' mates. If he can't find a way to cheat fate, he will walk away without his heart.

Note to listeners: This is a hot, action-packed, fun adventure of dragon love, babies, sassy women, dirty-talking alpha males, and enough heat it will make you take a couple of cold showers. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I can't even

The narrator's depiction of the female characters voices is so bad. I cannot get over it to even begin to get into the story.

The music why???

Tor and Morgan I enjoyed the intensity and chemistry. I did not like the musics in between each chapter. That drive me nuts. I was ready to quite the audio so many times. This is the first Milly audio that I have listened to with this music. not a high point at all.

I did live meeting the dragons and hearing some of their origin.

nope

I am SO sorry but the narrators 'female' voice is not something I can stand longer than five minutes. Besides that I just didn't get any real feeling from the reading at all.

Good Story

I love all books by Milly Taiden, but this story felt rushed, and also the narrator voice was off putting. but overall it was fun and okay.

Hetero Based an NC 17 TO Single X rated

When listening / reading to genres like fantasy, horror, or sci-fi It's the stories the characters and the adventure I want. I really hate Romance based books especially Man on Woman or Woman on Woman graphic sex scenes. Well anything graphically sexual in the books even my preferred Man on Man or Teen boy on teen boy coming out type books. the books don't really need it if its good enough. but if relying on those scenes to save the books or to sell more of them then you're a no talent hack. But for those trashy dime store romance all sex novels is a great way to exercise your writing chops but never rely on it. because once you do; you'll be nothing but. All of my books will have an NC-17 RATING. Not because of sexual scenes but so fundamentalist Christians won't start a witch hunt on my ass for corrupting their poor virginal darlings who're more devil than angel. LOL See I'm gay, I also am with D. I. D. / SPLIT PERSONALITY. and as a carthotic release I write what caused it physical, emotional and sexual abuse. in All my books there are at least one to two such victims who flip the tables and get revenge.
Not published yet. and due to my brand of dyslexia, I write as am a screen play or what I imagine one to look like.
so in over all and story I rate a 2.5 stars because of the sex scenes and them being heterosexual. I just believe, certain stories or genres should be free of the too sexual descriptive scenes. especially if are taking care of children. this was listed in the Y/A - TEEN SECTION. AUDIBLE NEEDS TO CREATE ANOTHER SUBLISTING/ ANOTHER ESCAPE. TO GROUP BOOKS IN NON-ROMANCE TO NO SEXUALLY GRAPHIC SCENES AND FOR EVERYTHING ELSE NO MORE HETEROSEXUAL BASED BOOKS IN THE LGBTQIA SECTION BUT ADD THE FOLLOWING TO IT SO WE HAVE A CHOICE TO LISTEN TO A CERTAIN BOOK. FF = LESBIAN. MM/BB = GAY/ QUEER. TG = TRANS GENDER AND SO ON. Am so sick and tired of getting books that aren't what I want. And am looking forward to bundling complete series' like Texas by RJ Scott and am wanting to listen to books that inspired such movies and tv shows from my childhood escape to Witch Mountain the six million dollar man Nanny and the Professor, ghost and Mrs. Muir and so on.

Nah...

I have no idea what's going on and I have 30mins left lol the music between chapters cuts the flow of the story and they are so short that I end up not caring about what is going on. The main idea is great but there is too much extra. Her powers and trying to help people, dragons+ from another planet, mates + a mate killer...thinking shes for your bro... idk maybe skip this and go to #2.

It was okay.

I was excited to pick up yet another series from Milly taiden. I really thought that the music between the chapters was going to be kind of cool however it got to be very annoying. its almost like the music was filler to extend the time of the audiobook. I am going to listen to the second book and then decide whether or not I want to continue.

Where do I start?

This is book 1 in the Drachen Mates series and the story gives the reader a quick and dirty ride into the new world. I like shifter stories, and I like true mate stories, and I like alien stories, and I like magic stories. But after reading this book, I don't think I like all those story lines in one book. Not only does it make the world unbelievable but it really distracts from the main point of the story. Additionally, the whole premises of a Mate is difficult to believe. Here we have a dragon shifter older than dirt waiting around for his true mate. But another group of shifters are killing mates before mates get to become mates and the dragon population is literally these 5 brothers. But that's okay because even if he doesn't find his true mate he can still impregnate the female he's protecting she will just die of old age at some point. How does that make sense? If your population is literally you and your 4 brothers why aren't you doing it like bunnies to get your numbers up, then when you have the headcount and time go find your mate? The performance of the narrator was good, although at some points I thought Nicholas Cage was reading to me but the twinkling music between chapters was just strange. Read one of Milly Taiden's other series and avoid this one unless you want to argue with your speakers on your local freeway.

love this author's works

I have loved all the books I have read from this author and this is no exception.
Morgan and Tor are human and dragon respectively. She's an empath and they are thrown together by her mother ostenstinsibly so she can help Tor and his brothers find mates. Drama ensues as well as romance.
All in all an enjoyable story and worth the read (listen)
