Publisher's Summary

Fresh from her photo shoot in Northern England, wildlife photographer Tala Westbrook makes a promised stop at the family manor in Staffordshire, desperately in need of renovation. Though she didn’t plan to stay longer than it took to find a contractor, she is caught up in an ancient paranormal war. Despite the danger all around, she finds herself falling for the handsome, enigmatic man assigned to protect her.

Micah Berrington, elite guardian from the realm of the Bewitan Fierd, is used to protecting men of strength in the greatest of peril, not a female looking for someone to repair her home. Yet the assignment is far more than it seems and so is the beautiful woman destined to capture his heart, regardless of the cost.

Bound by Oath and Honor

I like the time traveling aspect, other realms, and otherworldly protectors. I also really appreciated that while it is a romance, it is "clean" and no heavy sex scenes

Wow! Amazing listen.

I was given a promo code for this book and was so excited because this book sounded like my kind of book. It has not disappointed! I cannot wait to read more by this author.

First, the narrator. This can make or break an audiobook. This narrator is amazing. Absolutely perfect. His Irish accent is a little thick so I had to listen very carefully at first but I got used to it. He is incredible. He really brought the story to life for me.

The writing is very clear and the story is rich with folklore and suspense. There is lots of action, and the romance is not overdone. I found it hard to put this book down, from the moment I pressed play I kept this book playing because I had to know what happened. I don’t want to spoil it, so I will just say you have to give this book a try! I think Nora Roberts fans as well as Outlander fans would like this. Even if you’re not a fan of either, give this a listen. I am going to listen to it again!

Supernatural, Fantasy, Romance!

I liked this story but the narrator had a very strong accent. I don't know if it was Irish or Scot but I found him hard to understand. The female lead was American and she had the same accent as the male who was Irish or Scot.
Mostly it was a good vs evil story with some romance thrown in. It was not explicit though so if you want a clean paranormal this book is for you!

This book was a gift and this is my honest review.

Confusing? Interesting?

Pretty good. I was confused a lot. Like the time line, for what I thought 2, maybe 3 days had pasted, and it was mentioned that 4 weeks had past?

I LOVED the accent of the narrator. But I could easily fall to sleep to the sound of the book, and I don't think that was in intention for the author or narrator. He talked so slow. I had to speed up the time to x1.25 so I wouldn't fall asleep. Also, the breathes taken between lines really got to me at some point. They were loud and constant during certain points.

Overall, I love what the story told, loved the idea, just wish it wasn't quite so confusing at some parts.

Interesting story

Fantasy is the genre I listen to the least, but this story held my interest with it's unusual mix of different realms and the modern world. It even had time travel! Somehow it all worked together in a believable way within the context of the story. I could imagine it all as the author described it. The hidden, secret places of the world where the characters could slip into another time or dimension. It was fascinating, and yet also grounded the story in our reality so it didn't seem too fantastical. I also liked the historical references, which added to the realism. Micah was like a modern day knight with his honor and chivalry. The romance was in keeping with his values, and it was lovely and romantic.

I think that the narrator voiced Micah perfectly, and he also did a great job with the voices of the side characters. There were several of them, and they were easy to distinguish. His female voice was well done too and sounded believably feminine. His Irish accent was so charming and an absolute pleasure to listen to.

Bound by Oath and Honour

This was the first book by this author and narrator. Enjoyed the story and the narrator. At times his accent was a little thick but was enjoyable to listen to. This was PNR slow burn type romance. Time travel. Other realms. Immortals. Alien shape shifters.

PNR fans only.

I probably would have enjoyed the story more if I was more familiar with PNR. I was trying something new and it was only my second shifter book. Throw in the time travel too and I was confused. The narrator did an amazing job. His voice is very pleasant to listen to.

Brilliant narration!

This is my first book by this author and this narrator. I truly enjoyed this story and the narration was phenomenal! Tala and Micah brought me to so many different places and made this story wonderful . Andrew McDermott brought this story to life beautifully.

Bound by Oath and Honour

This is a Paranormal story with a bit of romance. Tala is a wildlife photographer that has been caught in a search for a key during a war. She earns herself a guardian to protect her from the convicts. They go on a merry chase through time and woods and various houses. While I was interested in this story I quickly lost that zeal. This is very slow and not much really happens. There is a lot of descriptive details given that I personally don’t need. I love conversation and action.

I listened to this on audio which started off being a treat. The narrator, Andrew McDermott, has a lovely voice but there was little inflection in the reading. No emotion. So while I LOVED listening to that accent, sometimes I struggled to stay zoned into the story. He did do a good job voicing the female and male characters. I was easily able to tell the difference.
Overall it’s a good story but just not for me. If you like details and stories that travel through times, characters that keep secrets and others that are inquisitive....then this is for you!
