Publisher's summary

Boone Rivers uses his fame and fortune as a professional hockey player to his advantage, but not in the way most people would think. Volunteering as often as his busy schedule will allow, Boone meets one brave young boy who turns his world upside down.

As a first-line right winger for the Pittsburgh Titans, I thrive on the thrill of the game. I live for the smell of the ice, the cheer of the crowd and the way my heart pounds whenever I step into the arena. But once I’m out of my skates, my focus is on giving back to the city of Pittsburgh.

It’s funny how life puts people in your path. I meet Aiden while visiting the children’s hospital and I’m struck by the strength and resilience of this 12-year-old kid fighting for his life. As my visits continue, we bond over video games and hockey until one day Aiden’s older sister walks into his room and I realize there might be a bigger purpose here.

Lilly Hoffman has the weight of the world resting on her slight shoulders. Aiden’s illness isn’t getting better, she’s at risk of losing her job and their father is looking for the answers to his prayers at the bottom of a liquor bottle. I find myself wanting to lessen Lilly’s burden and what starts as a simple act of friendship turns into so much more.

As we grow closer, I can’t help but fall for this fiercely protective and independent woman with a tender heart and bruised but not yet broken spirit.

As we face a future of never-ending uncertainty, I vow to be Lilly’s source of strength and comfort. Lilly and Aiden have reaffirmed to me the importance of giving and receiving love unconditionally, even in the darkest of times. And no matter what happens next, no one can take that from us.

Boone and Lilly

This is book 11 of the Pittsburgh Titans. Jeramy York and Stella Hunter did an amazing job on the narration . I listened to and read . Boone is NHL player and has been visiting Children’s Hospital for a while now he spends most of his time visiting Aiden, who is a young boy who has leukemia his treatments are looking good. While he is there Boone meets Lily Aiden older sister.
Lily is trying to help support her brother father and their family business.
Boone saves the day when her father who is not dealing well with Aiden illness and drinking shows up .
Boone and Lily start out as friends as he helps her father into AA and is support for Lily. Aiden is sweet child who I loved from start.
This book is very well written with the roller payer of emotions .
It broke my heart made me cry laugh swoon cry some more. While these two go through the ups and down.
This story has a HEA but also a realistic ending.
I can not wait for next book

Do NOT Listen and Drive!

I don’t even have the words to explain how I feel after listening to this book. Despite sobbing through the last chapters, it was beautifully written and I’m glad I was at home listening and not driving.

Tug On My Heartstrings All Over Again...

I love Sawyer Bennett's hockey books, and this one is no exception. Her Pittsburgh Titans series has covered some seriously heavy topics, but her Boone seriously pulled at my heartstrings.

Narrators Jeremy York and Stella Hunter turned in achingly sweet, heartbreaking, and poignant performances as Boone and Lily. They made finding love in the middle of heartbreak real, believable, and comforting. Love this book, loved this voice actor pairing.

Boone and Lily

A heart-clutching, ugly-cry romance that will break your heart before slowly piecing it back together. Goodness, I knew this would be emotional but I do not think I full understood how heartbreaking it would truly be. Amongst all the sadness Boone and Lily find something so beautiful that warmed my heart. Phenomenal addition to this series.

This book made my cry . I felt so bad for lily ,Boone and Stephen. Lily’s 11 year old brother had leukemia. Adrian had fought so hard time fighting his illness. Near the end of the book made me cry. Boone met lily while he was visiting Adrian at the children’s hospital. Stephen had a major problem with drinking alcohol. Stephen was lily and Adrian’s dad . Boone came from an alcoholic family . Boone know how to help get Stephen help getting him into rehab .

Beautiful and heart wrenching

Sawyer Bennett has written a caring love story. I loved Boone and Lily. The way the Titans support each other is wonderful. Jeremy York and Stella Hunter did a fantastic job of narrating. Kudos for getting through the last hour of the book.

Boone falls for sis of favorite patients he visits

This is a sweet but heartbreaking story because you can see the outcome from the beginning. Boone is caring, sensitive and a really nice guy. Aiden is a charming but very sick 11/12 year old who is on the mend but trying to have a positive attitude while dealing with precarious health. Lily, Aiden’s sister, is attempting to support Aiden, run her family’s deli, help her dad, foster her new relationship with Boone, and cope with all the stress. She sounds beaten down and flat much of the time, even when happy. Maybe it’s the less than stellar narration by Stella Hunter who does a better job with the male voices than with Lily’s. In any case the story is a tearjerker in waiting- a beautiful romance with tragic underpinnings. Sawyer Bennett hints strongly about that in the intro, so readers won’t be shocked. The result is a lovely but sad story that drags some since the foreshadowing builds while we wait for the inevitable. It is very Different than the relationship angst and communication issues from other teammate stories.

Wow!! Beautiful and heartbreaking

I have read all of the Pittsburgh Titans books and Boone is by far my favorite! Boone's story not only takes you on the journey of him falling in love with Lily but also will have you falling in love with her extremely brave little brother Aiden. Sawyer Bennet will break your heart in this book and then put it right back together.
