This Book Totally Educated Me on the Art of Bonsai

Before I was given this book, I thought Bonsai trees were just one type of tree that people in Asia worked on. However, this book taught me that many different kinds of trees around the world can be Bonsai trees. And anybody willing to diligently care for a tree can care for it. There are so many tools, gravel types, and soils you have to be aware of. And you shouldn't use the tools on different Bonsai trees for fear of contamination. This book tells you everything about the types of containers to use, the types of tables to set the container on, what kind of companion art to put with it, and even how to position them. It was so fascinating! And the author promised another volume in the future that goes deeper into Bonsai knowledge.

When I first heard about this audiobook, I was interested in Bonsai because it promised to make the art less mysterious and easier for beginners to understand. Even though it covers a lot of ground about Bonsai, The information is well organized and the narrator is interesting, so it's easy for beginners to understand the basics of Bonsai cultivation. There are inspiring examples of famous bonsai and different types of bonsai. This book is a good starting point for anyone who is new to this art form. The talk about different kinds of dirt, choosing the right pot, and important tools is helpful and informative.

I knew literally nothing about bonsais before listening to this Audiobook, but now I feel like a mini expert and bonsais are my new hyper fixation. The narration is clean and the narrator makes the audiobook enjoyable to listen to. The information presented by the author is laid out very well and is easy to understand. I was given a bonsai as a gift many years ago and it was pretty stunning how quickly I killed it. To this day, I don't think I've killed any other plant. I felt horribly about not taking better care of my gift. This listen is a good balance between theory and application.
