Publisher's summary

The women's league is in the house! And Brooklyn will never be the same again for Anton Bayer and the team....

This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Then she gets her heart broken by my teammate, and I make the foolish mistake of comforting her in the best way I know how. Our night together sets off a string of sins.

Nobody can know about our affair, especially my overprotective teammate. I can’t let anyone see into my greedy little heart. Not even her.

The things I want from her, and the things we’ve already done? If anyone knew, there’d be bombshells.

Contains: a defenseman with dreamy blue eyes, a female goalie with bad ideas, a major battle of the sexes, and a swimming-pool scene....

Baby Bayer

Absolutely LOVE baby Bayer!!! Anton Bayer has finally after screwing up one too many times and being scared he will loose his spot of the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team, to clean up his act. No more partying, alcohol, girls (aka puck bunnies), and whatever else he shouldn't be doing. He's got his last chance to continue playing hockey. Little did he know this blond bombshell would be his undoing in the girl department. From the first hairpin, he's done for. Sylvie, having spent the better part of the year mourning her mom's death, never expected to be playing professional women's hockey in the US or for the 'sister team' of the man she had always dreamt of marrying. Please note this is not a love triangle. Bryce and Sylvie are not romantically connected, it's just they both thought they would get married since they grew up together. Anton and Sylvie find a fast friendship as workout/running buddies. They both feel their is something between them but it takes awhile to give in. Once they do, they become more of a friends with benefits despite the hair pins popping up everywhere (signs from Sylvie's mom). It doesn't take long though for our baby Bayer to realize he is in love with Sylvie and once Sylvie lets go of the past she knows it too. Now there is no stopping the hockey duo. Their love is strong enough to melt the ice!!!!! Sabrina did a great job too depicting the disparity between gender equality in sports, I commend her for making this part of the story! Baby Bayer and Sylvie will melt your heart. Highly recommend this book. The narrators for the audio are fairly new to me, despite being an avid audio book listener. They did a phenomenal job.

Sarina Bowen Never Disappoints!

Reasons why Sarina Bowen nailed it with Bombshells:

1. Anton Bayer. The dreamy, blue-eyed hockey player was seriously swoony. Trying to clean up his rep as a prankster playboy, Bayer was singularly focused on securing his spot on the team and improving his image. Seriously sweet (though he might say otherwise), funny, and with a heart of gold. He was a good friend and teammate and his dedication to the kids he volunteered with was something special.

2. Sylvie Hansen. Bowen created a special heroine in Sylvie, a badass goalie who was committed to the game. Sylvie also struggled with her complicated feelings for Bryce Campeau, a teammate of Anton’s, and someone she had known since she was a teenager. As the relationship with Anton progressed, I loved her no-nonsense attitude and her willingness to speak her mind with him.

3. The humor. Sarina Bowen always kills it when it comes to adding humor that is genuinely funny, not over the top, and feels totally authentic to the characters and the situations. There were so many laugh out loud moments and I especially loved Anton’s lyrics sung to the tune of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana. Another favorite: all of Anton’s Frankenwords that never failed to make me laugh.

4. The love triangle that wasn’t a love triangle. I was so onboard with how Bowen handled the complicated relationship Sylvie had with Bryce and how it played out. There never really was a romantic relationship between the two, so there was no actual love triangle. But they did have a history and Sylvie’s feelings were totally understandable. Watching her come to terms with what they meant felt so believable.

5. All the rest! Anton + Sylvie’s friendship. The banter between all the Bruiser’s. The kids at the pool. The hockey. The Petra-Bryce surprise! The burgeoning relationship with Anton and his half-brothers. *chef's kiss*

More fun and entertaining Bruisers!

Another wonderful book by Sarina Bowen, the latest about the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team! The audio for this book is perfection, with Patrick Zeller and Desiree Ketchum bringing this story to life.

This story is wonderfully entertaining, and full of humor, with the addition of a women's professional hockey team, the Bombshells, to the Brooklyn Bruisers family. This book focuses on Anton "Baby Bayer", and one of the Bombshells goalies, Sylvie. With great character development, the author makes it easy to to cheer for both Anton and Sylvie to succeed both at hockey and love.

They story weaves in many of the Bruisers characters we already know and love, and introduces many more fun and interesting Bombshells players, as well as Anton and Sylvie's family members. I can't help but hope to see more of the Bombshells players in future books.

I highly recommend this book and the audiobook. I'm already relistening to the audiobook, because this is one of those stories that always brings a smile to my face!

In love with this audio

I am in LOVE with Patrick Zeller's voice...he did Anton so much justice it wasn't even funny. Desiree Ketchum was the perfect Sylvie...the emotion came through and had me captivated the whole time.
Sighhhhh...Hockey romance's get me every time!
Anton & Sylvie had this amazing friendship that turned into something more...they had the great chemistry. They both had different ideas about why they didn't want to be in a relationship, while they were actually in a relationship with each other...lol
I love that they each had their own hang ups, but was into each other enough to give them a chance.
Anton was a player, who wan't ready to settle down.
Sylvie was the innocent, sexy siren who had her sights sent on one guy...and it wasn't Anton.
This is a must listen!

It's Sarina Bowen!

Sarina Bowen delivers reliably without failure. Pick any of her books and you'll have a good time. BOMBSHELLS, the next in the Brooklyn Bruisers series, introduces Rebecca Kattenberger's female team.

The first of the Bombshells who gets a happy ending is the team's goalie, Sylvie. Her match? Baby Bayer! Ahhhh they were perfection! Everything about them just worked. Anton Bayer needs to clean up his act, he's set on being a good teammate and determined to stay out of trouble. That's hard when you fall head over heels in lust with a gorgeous female hockey player though.
Sylvie being hired into the Bombshells feels like she's won the lottery. Her childhood friend and teenage crush plays on the Bruisers' team and she hopes that they can take their friendship to the next level. But then Baby Bayer, the trouble maker, slides into her life.

This installment introduces a whole bunch of new characters. I can see some HEAs already on the horizon. Especially Drake has caught my eager eye and I was happy to see that his book will be next! There is a a hint of supernatural in this story that I found adorable.

I had the chance to listen to the audiobook of BOMBSHELLS and was introduced to Patrick Zeller's narration. What can I say, I'm super impressed and hope more authors start booking him. He snuck right into my favorite narrators list. Together with Desiree Ketchum they make this one easy to listen to and engaging.

This is another winner by Sarina Bowen. It is cute, low-drama, sexy and irresistible friends to lovers story with humor to boot and two easy-going characters you can't help but root for. Can't wait for the next book!

Miguel For President

A big shout out to the door man Miguel who has become a favorite secondary character. He was great when Anton had to hide. Also I love all the hair pins. Love them. I’m not really spiritual like that but I enjoyed that part of the story. Charlie was a lot but I can see her eventually evening out a bit. Silvie was such a great strong character. I also loved how Sarina Bowen reiterated the huge pay discrepancies between male & female players. Another great thing, I won’t spoil it but I like how something that is usually such a big deal was downplayed and left up to the woman to make on her own. When she wanted. How she wanted. It can be a big deal or not. Campos was ahhhghggg. Thankfully it ended on a good note.

Baby Bayer!!

I am so thankful to have received an advanced listening copy of Bombshells in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of Sarina Bowen’s. I have read all but two of her books and was very highly anticipating the new Brooklyn series book. I was excited to learn that Bombshells was not only Anton Bayer’s book also known as Baby Bayer, cousin of retired player Eric Bayer from Moonlighter but also included the introduction of the women’s hockey team that has been teased since Brooklynaire.

This book follows Anton who had a hard rookie season and is determined to be more focused this season. He promises himself that he will have no distractions this season, no women, no drinking, and all his focus on hockey. This plan goes very awry when he meets Sylvie the new goalie for the Bombshells, Brooklyn’s new women’s hockey team.

I loved the introduction of the Bombshells. The camaraderie and friendships that are formed between the women’s team members were so sweet. The girl power moments were amazing. I love a strong female friendship in my books. I am already very excited about the possibility of Fiona and Charlie’s books.

Anton and Sylvie definitely had great chemistry and I loved the friends-to-lovers aspect of their story. I was glad about the way their relationship ended up, especially because of my initial nervousness about the possibility of a love triangle with another player on the Bruisers who has a history with Sylvie. I was so grateful that there were none of the annoying love triangle aspects. This had the best resolution I’ve seen in a long time.

Overall, this book was another win for Sarina for me. I always feel like I’m coming home whenever I return to the Bruisers. I can't wait for the next one.
