Story
Detective Derek Mois wasn’t sure what he was dealing with when in March 2008 he walked into a home in an affluent Omaha neighborhood and was confronted with two bodies. Both had been murdered with kitchen knives plunged into their throats. Who would do something so vile, and why? Lacking answers, Mois and other detectives working the case were stumped. Five years later, a strikingly similar crime occurred in which two more victims were brutally murdered with knives expertly thrust into their jugular veins.

Story
Maybe the youngest son of a violent criminal named Hoggy Thompson was born a beast. Maybe rage was beaten into him. One thing was certain, by the time he reached manhood, Jerry Thompson was a savage killer. He had no conscience about rape, child molestation, or thrashing a dozen men in a prison fight. Once he got his hands on a gun, any target would do. He didn't leave witnesses. When he terrorized an entire courtroom and offered to rip deputy prosecutor Larry Sells apart, people wondered if there would ever be a way to stop his viciousness.

True Crime Body Of Proof Love Triangle Murder
This is the account of the true crime story recounting the murder, evidence collection, trial of Jessica O'Grady in May 2006. In the aftermath of trial we learn of questionable procedures and an overzealous sheriff.
I thought that it was going to be a mystery so I was a little bit bummed when I found out within the first 15 minutes "whodunit"
However, this is a meticulous accounting of the CSI procedures, a potentially shady sheriff. I held on and continued to listen and I am really happy that I did.
The book cast a light in different directions and the end… Well you'll just have to listen to it!
Kevin Pierce is an excellent narrator who kept the material intriguing. While the descriptions of CSI protocol in recovering evidence could have been dull, he was able to engage and it made me stay interested.
I don't normally like to listen to real-life criminal books, it feels wrong to me. Especially given the victim was a young woman – torn from the headlines kind of book. However, *I agreed to listen to the book in exchange for this review, so I did. It is a book for anyone who is interested in true crime &/or taken from the headlines.
Note: After the description of Jessica O'Grady's violent murder there is nothing to warn about.

Interesting
Where does Body of Proof rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've never listened to true story crimes until this one.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Body of Proof?
When he let the cops search his room.
Which character – as performed by Kevin Pierce – was your favorite?
He didn't really do the voices of the characters. So all of them I suppose?
If you could give Body of Proof a new subtitle, what would it be?
Raging hormones and murder in Omaha.
Any additional comments?
I wouldn't mind listening to something like this again soon.

the serpent and the scorpion
When they met, Jessica O'Grady was a tall, starry-eyed Omaha, Nebraska co-ed in search of Mr. Right, Christopher Edwards was a deceitful and darkened soul. This true crime book is straightforward journalism, but very good, well researched journalism, and there are, in fact, 2 separate yet related crimes here.
The author covers both meticulously, and gives us an in depth look not only at the criminal activity, but at the characters involved. Because this isn’t fiction, characters are not developed in the traditional sense, but presented using information gathered from their own words and documents, and from the author’s observations of their actions.
It is a good, short book, and of more than passing interest, especially given the fact, as the author puts it, that “The serpent was being hunted by the scorpion”.
Keven Pierce provided yet another stellar performance, but he is absolutely perfect for this kind of book, so I expected nothing less.
I give both book and narrator 5 out of 5 stars. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for this unbiased review via the courtesy of AudioBookBlast dot com.

Very good
Any additional comments?
Body of proof is a very well written, researched book. True real crime mystery reader will enjoy this book. I myself had hard time putting it down. It has 2 story going in same time one of the young girl Jessica and other one CSI lab agent Kafoed. Who would manufacture evidence and jeopardize cases to stay in limelight. I truly hope Edwards and whoever helped him grow conscience and truth come out.
I also enjoyed Kevin pierce deep voice and John Ferak writing.

Not a bad listen...
This is an interesting story, and the narrator did a fair job of bringing it to life, however as compelling a story as it is...the author could have done better. Listening was a bit distracting due to many short choppy sentences...however overall it was pretty enjoyable and an interesting story.

True Crime
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I haven't read a lot of true crimes so I don't have much to compare it to but I did find myself losing interest in all the"facts" I guess I just enjoy fiction more.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not a true crime!
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The story itself was interesting. But I felt more like I was reading a court report than a novel. I found that my mind wandered with all the facts being stated and couldn't immerse myself in the story. For someone who enjoys true crime, by all means give it a listen!
Do you think Body of Proof needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, it seems the topic was fully covered.

Body of a good Book
I love true crime. Body of Proof: Tainted Evidence in the Murder of Jessica O'Grady? is a good book. It's not perfect, but it's interesting. I am around 4,4 of 5 so it is close to perfect, but i feel there is some holes that are in this story that don't get talked about. John Ferak is maybe a bit new in the game, so maybe it is that inexperience that are showing? But hey, 4,4 out of 5 is more then close to perfect then i was expecting.
Kevin Pierce means quality. There it is! 4 hrs and 45 mins is 4 hrs and 45 mins that are Kevin Pierce can show is work again. I listen to a lot of Kevin's book, and this is another one that i will listen to again, and mostly because i just have fun with Kevin!
