Publisher's Summary

People will make their mind about you in a matter of seconds.

Did you know your body language can influence what your boss, family, friends, and strangers think of you? Do you sometimes feel socially awkward around new people because you can’t really tell what their gestures are saying or what your own gestures are saying?

When we talk, we say very little because it's our body that does the real talking! We express so much more subconsciously through our physical behavior, body posture, gestures, eye movement, facial expressions, touch, and the use of space. So why not learn how to use this to your advantage? Or just take time to listen because it is very interesting.

This book has the ability to totally change your life. You will learn what body language signs you should look for when you want to know whether the person who is talking to you is telling the truth or is trying to con you. It will always give you that edge, so you can adjust your game plan to steer things in the direction you want!

Good but not Great

Good information and reminders for people in sales, especially those new to the profession. Although those who have been in the game much longer and are serious students of their craft a lot of the information will be already known. The book is worth it if you have no knowledge about how to read people at all. If you do have knowledge about non verbal communication I would pass.

Highly recommended!!!

I found particularly interesting the parts where the author explains how the same gestures are differently perceived in different cultures. Another useful part is reading the body language of your baby, which I must admit, didn't know much of. I would recommend this book to anyone because this book can really help you improve your communication not only in your professional life but also in your personal relationships.

Amazing insight

I enjoyed this book it gave me some insight on some communication things I already knew but overall the book gave me some great insight in nonverbal communication cues. Also just gave me some awareness on how my body language is interrupted at all times and to be aware because it may reveal things but also confuse people and make you unapproachable

Book will empower you to be your best!

I use the tools I learned from this book in my personal life as well as in my professional life. I now pride myself as being a Master Negotiator in Training. I am constantly amazing myself what I can negotiate for myself just by paying more attention to body language. It's a skill that we must all improve and this book does the trick.

Um, WHAT?!

Been pretty prolific with the audiobooks lately and this was the first time editing really sucked. In fact, with 17 minutes remaining in the audiobook, the narrator curses, and it was not edited out. Talk about a random shock to the system while driving and listening! I almost wondered whether I had zoned out and imagined something. Also, it’s pretty easy to zone out while listening to the audiobook. I didn’t find it engaging at all. I also don’t feel like I learned anything particularly useful or scientific. I was hoping to learn some real data on human body language, as I engage in interviews as part of my job, and gauging the credibility of others is also part of my job. All in all, I can’t say I learned anything scientific. Overall, readers are cautioned that they must be able to read the context, that “it depends”, etc. and so this info can’t really be considered valuable or illuminating.

Body Language Review

Good information.
Somewhat repetitive and basic.
Writing style is organized but not as smooth as it could be.

Common sense information

I’ve listened to enough self development books to know what it takes for the author to keep the listener or reader entertained and invested. Sadly this book falls short in this aspect. Throughout the listen, I had the overall feeling that this was an essay written by a college or high school student. The voice of the author seems very uninteresting, boring and immature. The majority of the read goes through some very common sense knowledge. What’s worse is a chapter may start out very informative about an aspect of body language, then quickly turn into a lecture on how to pick up girls, how to look confident, or how to not embarrass yourself in public etc. This gave me the overwhelming sense that while writing a chapter the author couldn’t seem to choose a theme and stick to it. Overall this books just seems like a person trying to give you advice on something that they are not really knowledgeable about in the first place.

Exellent book for body language.

A good introduction to the study of body language. This book has helped me identify when a friend or customer is feeling nervous, or hiding something. great character development.

it covered all aspects of body language and each meaning. helped developed body language and dynamics enabling one yo go out and apply the knowledge. A book about friends who are already in love and just have to discover that they are loved in return. Fast takes this unknown language and reveals to the common man that, indeed understanding body language is crucial to understanding the human being and Although dated, the knowledge purported by the author is sound and informative.
And, really.not much has really changed. Starting with a childhood attack, and a coverup, it quickly moves on to a robbery,

fabulous book for Body Language

My friends and I always talk a little, but our bodies do the real talking when talking about others - we have fun doing that. This book taught me what body language really is and how you do it right. I learned how to improve my relationships with friends and family for stronger connection.Education in body language is a must especially when you are in sales. This is an excellent book. Very realitic. All their assumes in excercise seem to be true in real life. The first time one of the techniques pays off for you, like me you'll be on here writing a review. The book that saved me.

This is really quit a necessary book. I think this book should be given to every teenager in highschool because it is so informal and insightful of what to watch for in another person. This is my first body language book and it makes me want to read others as well. I recommend it. I truly enjoyed this book. At a young age I, also, learned how to read body language (due to my hearing impairment). I bought this book because I was curious to see what was in it!

An excellent balance of science and story telling!

I don't really read body language, but I was very interested in the subject. I only knew a couple basic body language reads, but this book added a lot more to what I knew. Very good stories as well as pictures to help show the read as well as stories to show the body language displayed by others. There might or might not be more different body language reads, but this book does a good job telling you a lot of them.

One of the best body language books!!!!

The author did a good job of breaking down the different body language signals. But also explains that it takes time to get good at it. And that you maybe right half the time he explains that other factors can play into it. Such as how well do you know the person some body language for one person could be totally different for the next. But overall its a cool book you will get a kick out of how much you will see in the world now once you start applying this knowledge to your everyday life.

Total trash

This abhorrent book is appalling. Only read if you would like to be brainwashed by the patriarchy. How does this trash still exist in 2020?
