Good story, Excellent narrator

I really like this series. Very well written, everything ties together nicely, and most of these stories make me want to listen straight through. But compared to the other books in this series, I found this one not as compelling. Probably just me.

Can not wait for the next edition to this series!! If possible each volume gets better!

A mature and nuanced character

This was a story about a changing noble character, not a story about a Roman soldier automaton who kills everything and gets blood on his face while hurling explicitives and anger at the world.

How nice to read about a normal person thrust into difficult situations and responds with the normal range of concerns, emotions, and actions.

Interesting story about an interesting time.

Poor editing for one chapter. The narrator’s breathing and sipping sounds were startling when first heard.
