Publisher's summary

Vengeance.

My purpose, carved deeper into my soul than the names carved into my flesh.

Dominic.

The man who took everything from me, my own personal devil in shifting flesh.

Ursache.

My pack. The high-born family of wolves I’ve sworn my life to protect, even if my dying breath is pledged to another.

Mason…

My everything. Friend, confidant, enemy, lover. Most dangerous of all, he would become the reason I lived if I let him. He is the one thing I won’t allow Dominic to take from me. Love is not a luxury I can afford, but the sweetness of revenge has nothing on the taste of him…

the second book in this incredible series 😍

It's review time 🎧

Narrator score🎧 ; i can't probably say enough about this amazing narrator. but I will say again that he is one of my favorites again.

Level of steam🔥: I don't even know if I should call it a slow burn. is 20 years of love slow enough? but even though you have a lot of hot moments it doesn't goes around the physical need and it's more about the yearning.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: well... this book is definitely sadder than the first one. a bit tragic even.(but just a bit) and it's perfect. I adore it. and will always love this couple like forever.

The book itself📖: this book is the second book in this amazing series. I love Mason, you can't dislike this self sabotaged incredible man. you will probably want to shake him, and don't you think that soul mate of this incredible character is any better.
for you guys who wants a good werewolf fantasy with no mpreg. this book is definitely for you. its complex and beautiful.
remember it's not an horror story and don't think so because of the cover.

Great book to continue the series.

I got this book right away after finishing the first one.

This second book definitely amps up on the drama and is darker then the first one.

I can honestly say the first book was still better as the romance in this book was way more troubling with conflicted characters and inner demons really making it difficult. This created a LOT of tension and i did kinda like that push/pull of the characters being so new to the budding relationship and we get to follow along while they try and figure out how to deal with their conflicts themselves.

This has a much more interesting overall story though compared to the first book. Its very dark, stomach churning and upsetting. The story got a disturbed reaction out of me that i wasn't expecting but i appreciated the writing making it consumable still to read without getting too sick. I understand torture, but I cant stand when the details get too overwhelming that it makes the book too difficult to read for people sensitive to that.

Once the romance picks up, it stays dark and twisted. Definitely not as pure as the first book as these guys have a lot more to deal with internally. When the Erotic moments did come, i honestly found it sorta difficult to be aroused by it and more felt light hearted with butterflies these guys were finally getting some relief dealing with their issues. I guess the story being as dark as it was made the Erotic moments less Erotic.

I'm also led to believe that maybe this is the last book of the series.
The writing towards the end make it seems like the series is wrapped up as i dont see where else it could go.

Overall this book was just so fulfilling, anyone looking into a shifter series should buy this but be warned that its not going to be light and fuzzy.

Loved book 2

I loved this story! It has a much darker feel than book 1, which I liked because it wasn’t a repeat with different characters.

Intense

This 2nd book is much more intense and all consuming as the first one. Mason was not liked by many in the first book even Nikolai, his father, treated him poorly. But we learn more about him and his gruff exterior. Vasil, his best friend, is the only one who can tame him. If that’s even possible. Through all the trials this book throws at them they do manage to find their HEA. I listened to this and Kirt Graves knocks it our of the park! I love his voice!!!

Kirt Graves

Kirt Graves makes this audio. Major talent. Decent story, but I think Kirt elevated it to a level that kept the story moving and interesting where it may have been a bit slow if I had read it.

Alphas Need Love Too

Joel Abernathy has created an interesting shifter world featuring a powerful family with relationships that buck the conservative paranormal rules. Vengeance, terrible kidnapping and torture, stressful expectations, and wolf shifters who find unique ways to love the person min their lives who gives them maximum happiness.

Alright - slow read but entertaining at the least.

I loved book one, and could’ve ended there. This book left a bit to be desired and seemed like it had been written just to write a sequel. The story was told in book one, and this seemed just like an extension of the epilogue from book one, also noting that you did not need to read book one to get lost in book two.

A beautiful and intense story

As with the first book in the series, this is a dark romance. The story is good, the themes of physical and emotional abuse (at times on page) are intense. The character development is compelling. The writing is fluent - and even lyrical at times. The narration was excellent and elevated the story. Overall, this book is original and compelling - I highly recommend it.

Highly enjoyable

Definitely has it's dark moments, but the plot is interesting and the writing excellent. A highly enjoyable way to make chores a lot less boring.
