Publisher's Summary

Vengeance.

My purpose, carved deeper into my soul than the names carved into my flesh.

Dominic.

The man who took everything from me, my own personal devil in shifting flesh.

Ursache.

My pack. The high-born family of wolves I’ve sworn my life to protect, even if my dying breath is pledged to another.

Mason…

My everything. Friend, confidant, enemy, lover. Most dangerous of all, he would become the reason I lived if I let him. He is the one thing I won’t allow Dominic to take from me. Love is not a luxury I can afford, but the sweetness of revenge has nothing on the taste of him…

This is the second book in the Flesh and Bone series, and the books are meant to be listened to in order. "Bleed" is an MM shifter romance with no MPREG. Listeners 18+ only.

This is a dark romance with themes that may be triggering to some listeners.

Bleed: An MM Shifter Romance: Flesh and Bone, Book 2
By Joel Abernathy
Narrated by Kirt Graves 8h 1m

Narrator score🎧 : Kirt graves is the freaking best !!!! No matter what he does, his work..... is the best!!!! the accent, he kept all through the whole book was incredible ! the voices!!!! he gave each character ...and kept them from book 1 ...was absolutely amazing! Andre grew Older.... but his voice changed just a notch.... as it should be with a kid he's... just the best

Level of steam🔥: okay... the book is hot!!!! very hot !!! but you will have to wait as in book 1... but the level of sex tension in this book is freaking on a 2000 degrees!!!!! very very hot ....and the fact that the author chose the intimate moments as heartbreaking ones was absolutely incredible.....

Level of anxiety and sadness😂😱: I remind you I'm a crybaby ....because I don't know if you will cry in this book I did but I'm a freaking cry baby ....I'm crying from everything .... Happy moments, sad moments ,I don't know if you kill a fly I will probably cry... so I did cry 😥🤣but now serious.... there was a very particular anxiety moments but ,I don't think that the anxiety or what happened touched my strings as much as Nikolai and Mason relationship did... I really wanted to kill Nikolai and it's not a spoiler if you read the first book.... but you will understand in by the end...

The book itself📖: okay , the book was freaking incredible.... I love it very very much it's a standalone.... but! and it's the big but ! don't read this book or listened to this book before you listened to the first story .....it's very important... you probably will understand what happened from sentences here and there... but you will not enjoy the same as if you read the first book.... sometimes I'm not usually if it's a standalone I'm nktnnagging about it ..... but the two books are so good... the anxiety levels are goodmmmm it's like a movie in your head... and I love it... I think a big part of it is Kirt ....so if you want to listen to this book do yourself a big favor and listen to The First One !
if you will ask me what book is more of my likingmm... I will not be able to answer you I think the book that I will like the best will be about Andre and **** (it's a spoiler and it's only in my mind I'm not sure of that ..but I would love to hear their story)

Kirt Graves

Kirt Graves makes this audio. Major talent. Decent story, but I think Kirt elevated it to a level that kept the story moving and interesting where it may have been a bit slow if I had read it.

Well...WOA!

Joel, intense doesn't begin to describe the myriad of emotions you invoke in this writing. I almost couldn't hear it...but also couldn't stop myself.

Kirt, excellent. I do enjoy your versatility.

Listener, gird your loins when you delve into this one. It's intense. It goes way beyond werewolf. I highly recommend you do the first one, first. Then do this one. Mason is more tolerable with some history.

I love this series.

OMG. This series is phenomenal!!! The characters are so well developed and even when they are unlikable they are loveable, well, the ones that we're supposed to love are anyway. The grief, suffering, and guilt are believable as are the dialogue and behaviours. The storyline and themes are also well developed and fascinating as is the interaction between characters, in particular, Nicolae and Mason. I loved reading about the characters from book 1 and how they have changed and grown and the impact they have on the lives around them.

I listened to this book which was narrated by Kirt Graves. He does a phenomenal job with the emotions and accents needed in this story. I'm sure it was a bit of a challenge switching so seamlessly from a Russian to a Southern accent as needed. If you even remotely like listening to books then this is definitely the way to go.

Bleeding for you

Expectations are a funny thing. I judged the first book, Exhale by its cover, thought it was going to be a bit twisted and dark. While listening to it I quickly realised that wasn't the case. So going into this book I expected more of what we got in the first book, some violence, a lot of pack politics and intrigue. Again I found myself being wrong. Bleed was darker than I expected, there was much more angst and hurt than I expected. It had all the elements I anticipated in the first book, but didn’t get, and I can’t do anything but laugh at that, at the irony of it all.

Vasil knows a couple of things. First his feelings and desires for his best friend and alpha, Mason, can never be known, barely even thought of, or he’d lose everything. But more than that he will get his revenge on the man that took everything from him; murdered his family and kept him prisoner and tortured him sixteen years ago. If it’s the last thing he ever does he will take Dominic down. He just hadn’t counted on what it would cost to do it. I won’t give too much of the plot away, you’ll need to experience it for yourselves, just know this isn’t a sweet or cuddly story. At times it’s brutal and raw, and you might just bleed a bit alongside the characters, but in the end it’s all worth it.

Kirt Graves is made for this series. He brings the books and characters to life. Most of the characters in this book speak with a heavy accent, and I'm impressed that Graves keeps it up throughout. I can only imagine how hard that must have been. I mean, it is one thing to narrate the occasional character with an accent, but a whole book - that's another story. This might be a reason why his voices for the characters sounded so similar and sometimes mixed together. But in the end I enjoyed listening to him all the same.

I've loved to spend time with the Ursache pack, and these men. I don't know if this book is the end of it or not. I can only say that if there will be more books in this series, I will happily stand first in line for a copy - the audio obviously - because that's the best way to enjoy them. But if this is the end, it has been a great journey to take.

Enjoyable

Enjoyed this book. It started off so glum, but it steadily got more exciting instead of depressing, but that’s why it wasn’t 5 stars. By the end I was happy with the book.

Awesome second book

Wow! I thought book one was great but this second book just blew it out of the water!
Bleed is a much darker, angst filled book than the first, following pack Alpha Nicolae’s son Mason, and the family’s personal bodyguard, Vasil who are both themselves Alphas.
We continue to see the previous characters from Exhale throughout, Jack, Ellie Andrei and Leonine, and they are strong characters within the story.
I would recommend reading/listening to the first book to fully appreciate Mason, Jack and Ellie’s characters.
Kirt Graves was excellent narrating, his subtle differences between each character despite the accent being the same was very clever and enabled me to still distinguish between them.
I’m hoping that Joel Abernathy will be writing a third book in this series in the future.
