Dark & Twisty

Loved this. The audio was amazing and the narration really fit the story well. I wasn’t expecting the story to go where it went and I was pleasantly surprised. Recommend this for a good fall read with spooky and PNR vibes.

I learned something too

Fantastic read with an engaging story and wonderfully intelligent characters. I loved the symbolism of various animals throughout the story. I learned a few things about butterflies and a blood sucking parasite. Great spicy scenes, one especially blush worthy. The narrators are fantastic. Tara Langella is my favorite narrator and Connor Crais and Veronica Pace are great as well. The only drawback for me was that the ending felt rushed. I read the book and listened to the audio. I wish this were a series.

I devoured this book and could not stop listening. My best advice is to go in blind. I did, and I’m so glad for it.

Amazing

What did I just read and listen to? Did I have an early copy to read? Yes. Did I purchase the audiobook after release? Yes.
This book had my mind all over the place. The twists and turns with all the darkness, I couldn’t put it down. We all know J.T. likes to play with our minds, and wow. Maven and Ronan, I couldn’t get enough.
The audiobook has a fabulous cast consisting of Connor Crais, Tara Langella, and Veronica Pace. What a fabulous job they did. It’s hard to describe how their performances pulled you into this dark and twisted story.

4⭐️ if standalone, 5⭐️ if this is the first in a series

I love how many twists and turns JTs writing offers. You can always guess some twists and some you would never guess. I was invested from the first line to the last of this book. Without spoilers I’m giving this 4 stars because the twists and turns were wrapped up SO fast at the end that I’m left with too many questions still. I understand if having questions was intentional but it just felt rushed. But if this is going to be the first book in a series I would easily change this to a 5 star because the writing is brilliant apart from the rushed twists.

The voice actors were amazing. All of them.

You’ll always have a good time with this authors writing style :)

Needed More!

Do not hesitate! This audiobook was amazing. The duet style narration was EVERYTHING! The voice actors were incredible (A+++++++) The story pulled me in BUT I just felt the ending was rushed and left me with questions. Was hoping there was going be another part but according to the author, this is a standalone. Definitely worth a listen! Maybe I will relisten and some answers will be answered.

but how on earth can they end it like this? there's too many questions!! I get that a mystical ending really makes the reader think, but COME ON. GIVE ME MORE DETAILS. I WANT TO READ ABOUT THEIR HAPPILY EVER AFTER, NOT JUST *ASSUME* THEY GET ONE. BRO

Uh…..

So after reading the reviews, I still decided to read this book even though everyone says there’s so many questions to be answered an this is a one and done book, so you’ll be on a permanent cliffhanger. The story was good and narrators amazing, but I wish there was more to have a proper ending.
