Living for their banter

I usually don’t read/ listen to books that have a fantasy element to them. I’m sucker for anything J.T. writes though. I’m so glad that I got this book. The banter between Maven & Ronan is just top tier. I was giddy and kicking my feet listening to the two of them go at each other. The love-hate relationship was just perfect. As usual I was lost for a little bit with what was going on with Maven & Ronan’s families. Once I found out I was shocked! Such a great book.

Closer to a 5

I think i was pretty close to giving this one a 5 star but the ritual the Aunties were going to do pulled it back to 4.7 because that was just weird. Everything else about this story I loved. Connor Crais is the perfect male narrator for this one. The gravelly, sexy voice goes perfectly with this story. This story was full of secrets, a creepy manor, strange things happening to family lines, bodies disappearing etc. I would definitely recommend this story.

I learned something too

Fantastic read with an engaging story and wonderfully intelligent characters. I loved the symbolism of various animals throughout the story. I learned a few things about butterflies and a blood sucking parasite. Great spicy scenes, one especially blush worthy. The narrators are fantastic. Tara Langella is my favorite narrator and Connor Crais and Veronica Pace are great as well. The only drawback for me was that the ending felt rushed. I read the book and listened to the audio. I wish this were a series.

Dark & Twisty

Loved this. The audio was amazing and the narration really fit the story well. I wasn’t expecting the story to go where it went and I was pleasantly surprised. Recommend this for a good fall read with spooky and PNR vibes.

I devoured this book and could not stop listening. My best advice is to go in blind. I did, and I’m so glad for it.
