Christi Reece is desperate. The one-time golden girl’s life has been tarnished, and a cascade of setbacks has left her reeling. She needs help, and she’s certain Jack Colby is in a position to provide it. When she shows up in Hope Harbor, however, Jack wants nothing to do with the woman who betrayed him. He’s built a new life on the Oregon coast—and there’s no room in it for Christi, even after she takes refuge in a charming but mysterious cottage nearby. Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and I’m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (so is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting it, right? Except, I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesn’t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us. Nothing but good old-fashioned no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (I’m not crying; I’m just peeling an onion.)

Widowed Samantha Arias hasn’t spoken to Holly Dunfee in forever. It’s for the best. Samantha prefers to avoid conflict. The blisteringly honest Holly craves it. What they still have in common puts them both back on speed dial: a mutual love for Katie, their best friend of twenty-five years, now hospitalized with cancer and needing one little errand from her old college roomies. It’s simple: travel cross-country together, steal her loathsome ex-husband’s VW camper, find Katie’s diabetic Great Pyrenees at a Utah pound, and drive him back home to Wisconsin.

I just couldn't finish it
First of all I've heard this story before, in other books. To me the writing is just heavy-handed, the usage of the language makes no sense. You can be a great scientific writer, prolific writer of history, even a prolific biographer, but that doesn't mean it'll transfer when you are writing a book about romance or love or whatever this one was supposed to be. Most people don't think that way and they're not going to talk that way especially to themselves. One example that sticks out to me which is silly, instead of saying the smell of the food or the thought of the food made my mouth water, she said the thought of the food made my salvatory glands take notice. I know this is nit picking but it drove me crazy. For me, the narrator was just awful. My husband has a name for this kind of person he calls them pistol winkers and that's what it felt like. I think this was supposed to be a spiritual book, or a Christian book. But it just didn't feel right to me for some reason. The main protagonist, a males character( the male voices are terrible), had an aunt that came to visit him. and when she the narrator voice her character she sounded like there was sexual innuendos all over the place. I thought it was just me, but my husband laughed out loud when he heard it. and that's when he called her a pistol wanker. Once again, it just got on my never. matter of fact she got on my nerves so bad that I just couldn't finish it because I couldn't get to the story without being annoyed by the narration. This might have been a good little slice of life kind of story that I could have over looked the heavy-handed writing, but for me I just couldn't get past the narration and the writing. strike two....

It’s a Christian faith book
When the novel is written as a Christian faith story just be honest about it. Why not include that as a genre? Plodding narrative, typical scenarios…. There’s nothing wrong with a faith book unless you are dishonest about the intention.

Hope Harbor stories always draw me in!
Since the first novel I stumbked upon to this latest charning story, the characters of Hope Harbor never disappoint!. My family and I journey to the Oregon coast most every summer so reading these novels set in a picturesque small coastal town is almost like being there. Every story is looked forward to with much anticipation. The characters draw you in,, and narrator paints a perfect picture of this lovely, though imaginary town and all It's quirky, charming characters! Do yourself a favor and start with the first book. Hope harbor will pull you in and draw you home every time!

Best book in the Series.
Thérèse Plummer is hands down 1 of the VERY BEST narrators!! I absolutely love her! I chose to listen to the first book in this series because of her!!
This was my favorite book in the Hope Harbor series. I love how other characters in the town have parts in the story. I like that there is more than 1 love story in the book. Would like to have heard a little more about the couples from the other books in the series and how they’ve changed. I wish the story could have gone a little farther into the couple’s future. The love story is sweet.

Ah, Hope Harbor 🥰
I love every visit to Hope Harbor!
Blackberry Beach is a wonderful story about life changing decisions and love. I enjoyed seeing the shared storylines of the older couple as well as the younger one.
Keep your ears ready for a little "author wink" I giggled when I heard it.
As always, Therese Plummer does a great job bringing the feel of Irene Hannon's Hope Harbor to the readers/ listeners heart.
