Excellent plot, and the same great cast of characters

I enjoyed the complexity of this plot. I could sew parts of it together before the end, but not all of it. It’s quite a web!

I’ve enjoyed all of Joy Ellis’ novels set in the Fens. She brings the area vividly to life, from its fogs to its wildlife.

As usual, the dialect acting is superbly done. Each character is uniquely voiced.

This was an excellent continuation of an excellent series.

The twist!

Good plot, easy to follow the multiple cases with an interesting ending to the story. Great addition to the free catalog.

Love love love Richard's narration. Usually actors don't narrate the best and literally read the book to you in monotone. RAs narration was so so good and although there are a million characters, you know who is talking. Also the author introduces them so well, that you know each character somewhat intimately and aren't like, which one was this again? Great story, great acting!

Sometimes hard to follow, but the characters and story line made the difference. interesting that law enforcement didn't take a hard line, and considers circumstances

Love this series and Richard Armitage is a wonderful narrator! Always an interesting/unusual mystery/crime to solve.

Liked the story but some characters voices were hard to tell if it was a male or female.

Great story but the ending was lame

I just spent 14 hrs of my life listening to a great story, only to be completely let down by the ending. It fell off a very steep ledge, crashed and burned, and was over in minutes. So utterly disappointed. Narration was great.

Narration was the best.

Armitage is so good at bringing the characters to life! The storyline is outstanding, as usual from Ellis. A great book!
