Publisher's Summary

One last job, and he's done for good...until two rookie agents ruin it all.

Don't miss the first action-packed novel in the Black Ghost Thriller series!

Bic Green, a.k.a. Black Ghost, is a world-class contract killer. Tormented by his inner demons, he clings to absolution from his evils by channeling his funds toward his goddaughter, Gracie, to help in her quest to cure cancer. In his final job, Bic plans each murder meticulously, creating elaborate ways to make each death look accidental.

No one suspects a thing until rookie FBI agents, Caroline Foxx and her partner Mack Maddox, stumble upon an unusual clue, a raw pork chop. They quickly begin to unravel the insidious plot. With billionaires dropping like flies and their superiors ordering them to stand down, they push forward until they find themselves deep in the crosshairs of the Black Ghost.

If you like David Baldacci's Will Robie, you will love Bic Green. Similar in style to masters like James Patterson, Freddie Villacci, Jr., is the up-and-coming author to read.

Absolutely FANTASTIC debut!!!!

I found this book while browsing new releases. I probably would have passed this book by but saw that Scott Brick was the narrator. I’ve purchased more than one book from an unknown author for this same reason. With this book I struck gold!!
As a young child, Bic Green watched his father murder his mother when she refused to prostitute herself to pay off his drug dealer. To shut Bic up his father then shoved a raw pork chop into his mouth saying “It’s pork chop eating time”. Bic grew up to become an assassin. His signature- a raw pork chop.
This book has it all! It’s fast paced with an excellent story line. Corruption and conspiracy in government, some of the wealthiest members of society are getting murdered but disguised as accidents and an assassin taking care of his deceased best friend’s daughter. WOW! This book kept me on the edge of my seat.
Scott Brick’s narration is flawless.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

I really tried to like this book. There was nothing about it that even came close to interesting or passionate and the ending was horrible

Terrible.

Not at all a good listen. Basically the author is showing us what happens when "snowflakes" join the FBI. It's actually quite scary!
The lack of basic knowledge of locations is apparent when Austin ,Tx is suddenly in or near Austin County TX, its not. Austin is in Travis County as anyone could easily find out with just the slightest amount of research.

So fun: "It's Porkchop Eating Time"

Review of Audiobook- Black Ghost: Black Ghost Thriller, Book 1 by Freddie Villacci Jr., Performed by Scott Brick

If there was one thing I wasn’t expecting after listening to this novel, it was getting one phrase stuck in my head so that I repeated it often. That wouldn’t be a big deal, but you get funny looks when you walk around saying, “It’s pork chop eating time”.

I loved the premise of this book. You have an assassin trying to make the world a better place in his own way. Not just by taking out the bad guys, but by investing in a cure for cancer. Throw in all the action-packed scenes, unique twists, and intriguing storyline, and the book is easily a five-star listen.

To make it even better, this book was narrated by one of the best narrators in the business! Scott Brick brought another stellar performance to add to his collection of greats. He really knows how to make subtle changes and differences to aid the story and never goes further than it should. A perfect narration of an awesomely fun and unique thriller by Freddie Villacci Jr.

Looking forward to listening to the second installment of the series, The Cure: A Black Ghost Thriller! “It’s pork chop eating time”

Full of action

I enjoyed Black Ghost throughout. Even though I’m very familiar with Scott Brick, and his performance was great, I’m new to Freddie Villacci Jr., so it did take a few chapters to really settle into the story.
The characters were likable and the story flowed well. I would have liked a bit more character development, in the beginning, but, the story didn’t suffer from it.
The one main fault I have with the story, was when the author talked about “a clip or clips”, he actually meant “magazine”, not clip, as in a clip for an M1 Garand. Clip is often confused this way, but, an author has the responsibility to research the subject well enough to avoid this kind of amateur mistake. It very much sticks out to those that are familiar with firearms, and may then cheapen the story. In addition, “Mac” also mentions, just having had his weapon cleaned, as though someone else had performed the task for him. I find that very unlikely. I don’t depend on anyone else to clean my weapons, and I’ve never heard of anyone doing that…again research.
I would like to thank the author for providing a free audible copy of the book, in exchange for an unbiased review. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I couldn't stop listnening

This book is my first experience with Freddie Villacci, JR. I was given an Audible code for this book and I so grateful for the gesture. I stayed up all night listening to this novel. It was everything and more than I even had the presence of mind to imagine. The characters are wonderfully developed and the story line grabbed me from Scott Brick's opening. He does and awesome job of bringing this fast paced novel with a twist at every turn to life. The emotions that this piece creates are all over the map and the plot kept me guessing until the end. I am going to look for more work by both the author and the narrator. Teamed up they are a force to be reckoned with. I highly recommend this book to anybody who enjoys serious suspense and adrenaline spikes without chemicals. NO caffeine or alcohol necessary to enjoy this ride.

"That's enough to kill for."

Bic Green, a hit man known simply as Black Ghost, has a singular calling card: a pork chop bought at a specific butcher's shop and left with the victim and the words, 'It's pork chop eating time,' His lifetime of killings caused him no regret, the victims always were bad men, and deserved it. Until he was hired for one last, magnificently paid, job, to take out ten of the country's richest men in just twenty one days. This he proceeds to do in spectacularly ingenious ways. Two rookie FBI agents start to suspect a pattern and, despite opposition, try to find out who else might be targeted, and why? This book is a fast action kaleidoscope of threat, death, drugs, hacking and political intrigue and very dark, with just a tiny, tender thread of hope. Hey there are elements of humour in there also.

The narration of this violent story has to be slick and Scott Brick is superb, helping to bring the whole picture to life with his clear and well modulated reading and perfect pacing. He also gives separate voicings to all of the numerous protagonists: a masterful performance.

My thanks to the rights holder of Black Ghost, who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom. Did I enjoy it? The relentless fast action is breathtaking, the murders bizarre and ingenious, the breadth of the political interference terrifying and characterization good. It is a thriller which seems to skim the surfaces between reality and laugh out loud fiction and will keep the reader riveted from start to conclusion. But 'enjoy' is not the right word: more like mesmerised, I think.

“Old MacGabriel had a gun. E-I-E-I-O”

Really enjoyed listening to this book. It’s a great story with lots of action and intrigue although I felt the romance was a little wedged in.
Really well narrated although I would have liked a little more distinction with the female voices.
I’m looking forward to hearing more from this series.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

A brilliant listen

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this top notch thriller. I know people say fast paced books, this was one of them. It never let up and the most fun I read was how each person was assassinated. The story of how things started is original and flows perfectly through the pages. I’ll be reading more from this series and maybe other works from him.

Highly recommend

I was given this audiobook free from a request to the author for an unbiased review.
