Excellent!

Excellent post apoc end of the world story. Great characters and even a few I just hated but that's how stories work. Decent narration but a bit hard to understand in parts due to the heavy British accent but still a very enjoyable book.

The Doctors Are In

Black Death Survival is overall a quality entry in the post-apocalyptic genre. The character development is a bit light, resulting in characters that are hard to care much about. The Doctors group is an interesting spin on the usual gang protagonist, which is good to see. The ending feels a bit rushed, but given the Author's explanation of an intended collaborative trilogy that fell through, it makes sense why things had to be tied up likely quicker than originally designed.

Jon Cronshaw at his best!

The audiobook version of Black Death Survival is really two stories – the first is the title story, followed by Black Death London. While I had previously read both of these stories separately at different times, I was thrilled that I was able to listen to both of them back-to-back. The listening experience brought the overall plague story full circle providing a depth to the overall story that wasn’t present when reading the stories separately.

Black Death: Survival provides an excellent example of Jon Cronshaw’s abilities, I’ve read several his other stories/books and this one took me by complete surprise. The characters, action, and dialogue in this story are all an interesting departure from his previous stories, and all three of those items came together to create an excellent story.

Black Death London looks at the plague from the perspective of politicians and their want to leverage the plague for their own purposes. Along with being an exceptionally good tale, I loved that this story is an excellent political satire piece that paints a true picture of politicians. Scott Fleming’s narration of both stories is excellent I especially enjoyed the inflections he used in the more satirical parts of Black Death London.

If you are a fan of Mr. Cronshaw’s work, this is a must-read addition, and if you are new to his work, grab a copy and settle into a well written post-apocalyptic story. I received a Review Copy through Story Origin and chose to provide this review.

A tale of the animalistic behavior within us all

Black Plague Survival is a rather interesting and revealing aspect of just how far our society may degenerate into a (God forbid!) "dog eat dog" world, yet a chosen few try as hard as they can to remain above the muck and mire and hold the family unit together.
.
The book could take place tomorrow, but to the author's credit he managed to avoid a lot of the technical aspects of how pandemics are managed, rather he focused on the behavior of the beasts of our society and how quickly things can / could fall apart, and just how far they might "fall..."
.
The book is well written, but my American ears are not accustomed the vernacular and speech patterns of the United Kingdom.
.
What I liked was how much down and dirty / the nitty gritty the author portrays his characters.
.
The only thing I struggled with was a few of the sentences almost escaped my understanding.
.
Nice work to the author, this was a pretty accurate tale of the beast that resides within each and every one of us.

It Isn't Zombies....And That's Good!!

It's very refreshing to listen to a post apocalyptic story that doesn't have anything to do with zombies. I found the book to be very well written, and easy to follow, but with voice acting that left nothing to be desired. I whole heatedly endorse this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

4 star post-apocalyptic thriller

Black Death Survival: a post-apocalyptic survival novel, my first read from author Jon Cronshaw, an author I'd wanted to read for some time now yet never got around to. Well written & enjoyable 466 page/10 hour 27-minute read/listen. I was given an Kindle copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Great story

An amazing and intense action packed story about a new black plague. the narrator did a great job bringing the voices of the characters to life. the only down side is the amount of swearing, but to make it seem like real life, that is how people talk when scared and angry. I liked it and I think you will too.

Another post-apocalyptic novel by Jon Cronshaw.

Another great post-apocalyptic survival novel by Jon Cronshaw. This story is about regular people protecting theirs. Tough characters, typical post-apocalyptic plot, but a good story overall. Audio version: Scott Fleming did a great job with this one.

Brits Non-stop Bitching drowns out the story line

I was unable to finish the story, it started good but after several hours of the nonstop bitching and bickering in a snobby British accent Become mind numbing
