Publisher's Summary

I will not be ruled by fear.

A depraved emperor. A wasted realm. A dying race.

With Tyrrik by my side, I’ll lead the charge to remedy it all.

After discovering the rightful heir to the Phaetyn, an alliance with the healers should be easy as pancakes. But while the armies of Verald and Gemond march to the border for war, the emperor delivers a crushing blow that threatens to put everything at risk.

As I fight my father’s staggering power, I’m compelled to face evil on his terms. A twisted darkness worse than anything I’ve experienced.

Nothing could’ve prepared me for this.

How far would you go to defeat a merciless sovereign?

I’ll lie to the liars. I’ll betray the betrayers. I’ll kill the killers. I will conquer my fear.

If you love dark fantasy, you'll be captivated by The Darkest Drae. With pulse-pounding action, witty humor, and slow-burn romance, you’ll fall in love with dragons like you’ve never seen before.

Due to thematic elements, this series is recommended for mature YA+.

Too much....

I really really enjoyed the first two books in this series. But this third book was just too much for me!! The narrator makes it sound like everything Ryn says is with overwhelming emotion.. it was annoying. Also Ryn “snorts” and “snickers” far too much. It’s like what started off as some badass characters turned into ridiculously mushy and annoying characters in this third book.

Really!?!

I started this series, liking the story line...enough to continue. It was a very well imagined and had sooo much potential. Sadly, I figured the main character being young and unknown to whom she was why she was portrayed as she was , very , very immature and annoying..OMG....but it she only got WORSE as the books went on, Id assumed the author would give her an air of maturing as the series unraveled.....but i barley made it through the last book...and only because of the story itself I stuck it out...It would have been far better if the main character would have shown more maturity and stopped the horrible drug out whining.....I really wanted to enjoy it...but now i feel i just wasted my money....Even thought it was a YA series....it was still worse than ive ever read.

Best Shifter Series Ever

I truly loved this entire trilogy. This definitely wasn't a usual shifter series. I enjoyed this much more because of the way the ad authors wrote it. I also was skeptical when I saw there was only a female narrator and no Male one but I must say that Sierra Kline was fantastic! I'll be looking for more books from Kelly St. Clare and Raye Wagner.

Ending disappoints.

Spoiler alert the ending needs a rewrite. HEA ending for a YA romance fail. Heroine fails, the hero dies, but then surprise, not dead. Nope - Doesn’t work Fake death + bad dream = author wrote self into trap and had to fudge to get out. Loved the story, enjoyed the characters hated hated hated this ending.

Love

The main character makes me laugh and the supporting characters round out the story. Loved all three books!

Ick, just ick.

you would have thought the main character would have grown up a bit since the first book but.... the extreme language "holy pancakes" or euphemism for sex being "playing cards" or "dancing the may pole" is CONSTANTLY USED. A few times would have been funny or cute but that's just what she called it because she was too immature to say sex. Honestly I wanted to finish the story after getting through the first 2 books but I could hardly stomach this one. The main character is a CHILD(not even teen) in a relationship with a 150 year old guy and whines the entire time gave me the creeps.
