How much do you know about the lives of bisexual men who are married to women? Bisexual people make up a majority of the LGBT+ community, but they are still relatively hidden and misunderstood. Robert Brooks Cohen aims to address this invisibility by sharing a collection of interviews with Bi+ men who are or were married to women, helping listeners find connection, understanding, and community.

Their experience is often erased as "not queer enough," but these men are queer, and they are challenging societal norms in important and innovative ways. Written by the host of Two Bi Guys, this book intersperses Robert's bisexual journey with the diverse stories of other Bi+ men to help normalize sexual fluidity and create more awareness and compassion. This book shares interviews with men and a few of their wives from a wide array of cultural and regional backgrounds, religious family structures, and more, helping bisexual men find pride, validation, and joy in their sexual identity.

This book is written about and for bisexual and questioning men so they can see their experience represented. However, it is also for their partners, family, and friends—as well as students, researchers, clinicians with bisexual clients, and allies—so that they can better understand the unique challenges of this identity and provide meaningful support.

I have been listening to several books on this general topic, and this is my favorite one. I really enjoyed all the different perspectives and experiences.

Very informative

Honestly, I thought this was a nice break from the more clinical viewpoint. However, I completely disliked the couple in chapter 17. It was disappointing that the only people who were closer to my own age ended up being sounding so patriarchal and toxic.

Good to hear different views without a clinical perspective

The vast majority of the perspectives in this book are men who have cheated on their wives, or left them when they came out as bisexual. I've been married to my wife for a long time and when I came out to her as bi she was amazing and supportive. I do find men attractive sexually. I do not find the idea of cheating on my wife acceptable. It seems selfish and cruel. This author seems to have picked a majority of interviews that involve cheating or going for an open marriage. To the author's credit, he does say that he is in an open relationship in the beginning. I'm fine with hearing some of it, but cheater after cheater after cheater was getting old. No thanks, I'm attracted to women too and never felt the need to step out on my wife with a woman either. I'm not a pillar of ethics or anything, I just made a commitment to my best friend and intent to stick with it. Unlike most of the interviews in the first half of this book. I returned it halfway through, because it became obvious to me that the author liked a certain type of story that was "juicy" and boring old monogamous relationships aren't exciting enough. The reader does a very good job.

Faithless
