Publisher's Summary

Deep within the peaceful heart of Amish country, a life-or-death emergency shatters a quiet world to its core. Number-one New York Times best-selling author Susan Wiggs delivers a riveting story that challenges our deepest-held beliefs.

Caught between two worlds, Caleb Stoltz is bound by a deathbed promise to raise his orphaned niece and nephew in Middle Grove, where life revolves around family, farm, faith - and long-held suspicions about outsiders. When disaster strikes, Caleb is thrust into an urban environment of high-tech medicine and the relentless rush of modern life.

Dr. Reese Powell is poised to join the medical dynasty of her wealthy, successful parents. Bold, assertive, and quick-thinking, she lives for the addictive rush of saving lives. When a shocking accident brings Caleb Stoltz into her life, Reese is forced to deal with a situation that challenges everything she thinks she knows - and ultimately emboldens her to question her most powerful beliefs.

Then one impulsive act brings about a clash of cultures in a tug-of-war that plays out in a courtroom, challenging the very nature of justice and reverberating through generations, straining the fragile threads of faith and family.

Deeply moving and unforgettable, Between You and Me is an emotionally complex story of love and loss, family and friendship, and the arduous road to discovering the heart’s true path.

Great plot!

Very suspenseful and not at all predictable. The contrast between life in the world and the plain life and how meaningful both are was well done.

Awesome

Tanya Eby is always wonderful as well as her male counterpart in this storytelling. The novel is engrossing and will make you smile and cry. I loved it. The characters were very strong. I liked that children were as much as the adults. This was with every penny I spent to listen!

Okay

Not much of a story. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't finish, but I wouldn't really recommend it. Kind of a waste of a credit.

An Amazing Journey

I'm a finicky reader...And this book captivated me. The story took me on quite an adventure. The only critical thing I would have to say is the ending was...lacking. Had the author simply became tired with the manuscript and wanted to end it? There was a definite missed opportunity to bring the reader to a more satisfying ending. In my mind, I rewrote the ending. I played the scene out longer to include dialogue that should have been included. It was indeed a missed opportunity by the author. I wonder why she chose to end it so abruptly. If length was an issue, there were many other places where text could have been cut in order to provide the reader with an amazing ending. Still, I ad to give it 5 stars because of the way I felt while listening to it.

Loved this story!

I have always enjoyed stories that include the Amish. They have a way of giving the story and characters a new flavor. Cheers to the author and Bravo to the narrator. A superb audio favorite.

Good story, poor delivery.

Once again Susan Wiggs didn't disappoint. The story was interesting and thought provoking. I wasn't a fan of the
narrator. Her delivery was too halting/stilted which caused the story to seem clunky.

Give it a chance

I almost stopped listening to the book after a few chapters. I’m glad I continued, though! It’s a really good story, I just did not care for the narrator.

New book, new author

Susan Wiggs wove an intriguing story that I could not stop listening too. I have to find another book by this author.
