Publisher's summary

The life of a bounty hunter is never easy. Between chasing after supernatural criminals and doing battle with the rival clan Taran, I have more than enough on my plate.

As if that wasn't enough, I've been thrust into a maze of shadows. A young apprentice, a changeling, and a baron will conspire to turn my life upside down and change Sadras forever.

While I navigate this conspiracy and the demons from my past, I'll be forced to confront an even greater power within me.

For I am no ordinary man: I am the berserker, and I've been quested by the gods to restore this forsaken land.

action packed

a great break from an apparent Isekai phase I have been in. the story of the MC in his native land was a break I didn't know I needed. from the details of the different races and how they interact with each other kept me entertained from start to finish.

More story than romance...Yes!

This was a really good book. It has a great story line and setup the help give all the character's and places a depth that is sometimes lacking in other books. Even the sex times have a reason besides "you're beautiful and I'm horny". The characters have flaws. The plot line has twists and turns without being overly convoluted. I wasn't a fan of the narrator, but she did a decent job. Which is better than I could do so I'll just shut up about that right now. Overall, a very good book.

Very good book

It was a little slow in the first hour but really picks up after that. The story was very easy to follow. I enjoyed it can't wait for next book to come out.

Good

This book was way good. I read it basically as fast as I could, Roland Carlsson does such a great job with this book, and the new narrator isn't bad at all

The new narrator isn't bad at all. All the voices were good and usually when you get a new narrator theirs problems with the book, This book has no problems. I know that beta readers usually make sure there's no problems but it's still a +1 in my book.
All the voices were different too, I felt like there was one voice that was similar with another one but other than that The voices were all different.
its always nice too get new narrators, especially female ones. I feel like this narrator as a good chance of making it. I can't wait for the next book so I can hear her narration.

This book wasn't actually that short. I can give positively say that this book is worth the money with the length alone. I think that this book has alot of other qualities that will make it worth it not even thinking with how long it is.

The premise of this book wasn't the best in my opinion, and I feel like it could've been thought out better, when I first looked at this book I thought is was a litrpg. It's not, I like the idea tho, The Mc is a bounty hunter and he takes on a apprentice while dealing with hardships and whatnot, he's also a Berserker so that even adds on too the idea category.
I also like the setting this book takes place in.
The plot of this book could've been better, I feel like it was lacking in alot of places and it also could've been performed better. There weren't any plot holes that I could tell out, but it was just lacking.

I really like the fighting, it was one of my favorite parts of this book and i feel like the Mc is a bad***
The other characters are cool also, There not annoying and with the narrator I don't dislike them at all.
The world building is actually really good in this book, I like the detail put into the world and the city he's in. I felt like it was really detailed and I like the world it was based it.
The character progression wasn't really there for me, I feel like when it came too the characters they lacked depth, and they had there own personality but I can't really say the depth was really there.
The harem elements aren't bad and I actually liked them.

I feel like this book is aimed at a wide range of people. This book has pros and cons, and I think that alot of people who don't even listen too books like this will still like it. But if you do like cool bounty hunting story's with cute woman this book is for you.

Roland did a awesome job with this book, and the narrator did a good job with this book.

In conclusion this is a solid buy, and is a good book.

Another great start to a great series!

Roland Carlsson does another great job starting a new series. The MC and supporting characters are all likeable and you get invested pretty quick in their lives. As always Roland does a good job making the supporting characters more than mere playmates. I look forward to book 2! Audio Version: Christian Drerup does an amazing job with the narration. The majority of her characters were easily identifiable and brought the story to life.

Great Beginning

I think this story has a lot of promise. No OP MC. Just a man using the skills he’s mastered over his life to protect his own and help protect those around him.

Great narration!

Narrator Makes the Book

The story by Roland Carlsson was entertaining and very much enjoyed the read, did take a while to get fully into the story but once your hooked you can not stop listening! The main character is a little dense but well within a normal range with this type of book. Christian Drerup did a fantastic job with narrating with me only having one issue when she used the same voice with two different characters in quick secession, but over all a very good book and worth time listening to!

A fantastic start to a new series

A little context for my reviews. I always try and take it easy on the first and last book of any series as not everybody makes it to “The End” and the first anything can be a shaky endeavor. With that said the narrator who I am unfamiliar with did a fantastic job in my opinion. The story for whatever reason it makes me think of Shadowrun with perhaps the ugliness of 40K. Basically it's a post-apocalyptic world with magic and fantasy races. There are the provincial territories that are in decline which is why the lady Ranger loses her job and ends up going to the city. The culture shock, as the city is a lot seedier, is real. Our hero is a bounty hunter in said city. A city that is controlled by barons who seemed to specialize in debauchery and criminal behavior. Each part of this city is broken up into territories and there is cold 2 hot war between the baronies. Our hero is also married but is hopeful for the day when he can support more than one wife. His wife is interested in adding our heroes new apprentice the lady Ranger. I won't talk more about the book at this point as I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that the story is good, and I'm interested in seeing what comes next. In other words, I recommend that you give this book a try.
