The Walker Brothers...

Tall, dark, and deadly, these three brothers run Walker security. Each brother is unique in his methods and skills, but all share key similarities. They are passionate about those they love, relentless when fighting for a cause they believe in, and all believe that no case is too hard, no danger too dark. Dedication is what they deliver, results are their reward.

Blake Walker left behind the ATF when the drug cartel he was hunting cost him the life of his fellow agent, and fiancée. Now, two years later, he's working with his brothers at Walker Security, but he's living fast, hard, and wild, until he reaches the ultimate high...revenge. He's one meeting, one woman, away from being inside one of the money laundering shells the cartel operates.

Their two will paths collide.

Two people who will do anything, including sleeping with the enemy, to avenge or save someone they love. But what if everything isn't as it seems and the enemy isn't the enemy at all? Can these two broken people drawn together by their sizzling hot attraction see beyond their pain and their need for vengeance? Undoubtedly, they will face the ghosts of their pasts, but will those ghost destroy them or forever bind them?

Grrrr!

What disappointed you about Beneath the Secrets?

How was I supposed to know this was not a complete story and would have a huge cliffhanger that required me to buy the next book if I wanted the whole story?

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Angry!

What does Eric Michael Summerer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator was great

Lots of steam, a little story

To tell the truth, I skipped a lot of the sex part. It was overkill for me. Enhancing the story line would have been more to my liking.

The Walker Brothers keep getting better and better

Infiltrating a drug cartel is not an easy task, and Blake Walker is on a mission to do just that. After his chance encounter with Tiffany Snow, Blake enters the office of second in command, Mendez's office and who should be his secretary, but the woman who knocked him off his axis and took pertinent information from him! Now he gets the chance to work side by side with her, find out her secrets and what her motivation is. This fast paced, suspenseful romance will have you hooked and wanting more. Each have their own motivations, but now with their growing feelings for each other, will Blake and Kara be able to achieve their wanted results? With pasts each has to overcome, Jones has given us a story to invest in and enjoy. This one does have a slight cliffhanger, so get the next book queued up! You will want it.

Eric Michael Summerer continues his amazing narration of this series, he is the Walker brothers to me and gives them that masculine feel while also having that tender side. A master at his craft, it is a pleasure to listen to him.

Lukewarm romance, lukewarm action

Like the last two, this book was just ok.
I'm only listening to the first 3 books in the series because they supposedly get better. The love story is insta-love and not so believable. Goes from zero to "you're the reason for my existence" in a very short amount of time. In between that there's a whole lot of internal dialogue and angst, much more than actual conversation. The whole "can't keep my hands off this person but I really shouldn't" gets a bit repetitive, and there are more sex scenes than are really necessary in a book of this length, ended up skipping. The sex could have easily been replaced with relationship building conversations between the H and h to make the romance more convincing. The suspense/ action part is also lukewarm but gets more interesting at the end. It ends on a cliffhanger but I'm not even mad because overall, it isn't interesting enough for me to immediately want to get into the next book.

🥵❤️🥵

They're not really enemies to lovers and I don't want to call it hate...lusty denial maybe? Anyway, this was hot! The youngest Walker brother is the most cocky and dominant imho 🥵

Wild ride

Overall opinion: 3.75 Stars

Good storyline that was a bit overwhelmed by the unwillingness of the MCs to communicate. There are some more TSTL moments. Lauren is an in your head writer so always expect more head banter than actual communication.

The H was the typical dominant male with a soft side and possessive streak while the h was something else. The h is overly stubborn and defies all training multiple times throughout the story. This book is definitely made to give you a taste of what is to come.

Last Walker brother Blake’s Story

But not the end of the series because this results in an ok ending for Blake and Rogue FBI agent Cara but is a cliffhanger for Cara’s sister who had been abducted. Lots of repetitive dialogue and angst as poor Blake debates with himself about how much of a relationship to have with Cara while undercover and while he has flashbacks of his late fiancée’s murder. Lots of sex and seedy characters and some suspense and action. An interesting overall plot but not the best book. The narration is not great but apparently the next book in the series includes a female and male narrator so there is hope.
