3.5 Bugger Another Trilogy

I happen to like this author and I have enjoyed other books that are part of her Stolen Bride series, but those books pretty much are stand alone and you can enjoy them without reading any others, but this one you cannot. I was intrigued by the time travel aspect of this story and was looking forward to a good read, but after about the first few chapters it became kind of boring. Most of the book was about sex, which is not all bad but I read Highlander romance books for the rich history, colorful descriptions of every day life, and the intense conflict that the warrior aspect brings to the story. I never got that breathless anticipation with this book and we are just left hanging at the end. You have no choice but to buy the next two books in order to know what happens to Emma and Logan. We are given a synopsis of each book at the end of this one and if had read those to start with I probably would have rethought my purchase of this book. It's not a bad story, but it's not her best.

Antony Ferguson was fantasic and should have narrated the whole book. Arika Rapson sounded like my mother trying to sound sexy - creepy.

HOT but more character development in books 2 & 3?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If the friend really loved to read about hot sex scenes then yes... but, I would definitely not recommend this to readers that are use to "tame" love scenes in some romance novels.

What other book might you compare Behind the Plaid to and why?

I would have to compare it to any of author Brenda Jackson's books. Why not a specific book? There are many "Highland" themes to choose from & I cannot make a definite choice because I think I would have loved this book more if we saw Emma and Logan's relationship build & develop out of the bedroom too.

What does Antony Ferguson and Arika Rapson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

LOVED THE NARRATORS!!!! Excellent scottish brog by Antony Ferguson! BOTH narrators kept me listening- even through the screams, groans, moans, anddddddddd lol you get the picture.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

WARNING: ALL INNOCENT CHILDREN (INCLUDING VIRGINS), HORMONE JUMPIN' HORNY TEENS & ANY ADULT(S) THAT CANNOT SAY THE WORD "SEX" WITHOUT BLUSHING OR WHISPERING IT **W I L L N O T B E A D M I T T E D**

Any additional comments?

This is my 1st review. I felt I needed to warn some of you as I rely on reviews when I am unsure about certain books.I value those reviews & I have seen many that summarize the story and relate the ending. No problem with that here ( the main reason I decided to write this) b/c as I was listening to the book I suddenly hear "this has been an Audio production... WTH? I looked at my IPOD & sure enough it had ended. I looked the book up on another site & that is when I read there are 3 books in the series and we will hear more about Emma & Logan as the series continues. Hopefully, Audible will add books 2 & 3 ASAP!
MY OTHER VALID REASON FOR THIS REVIEW IS THAT IF YOU ARE LIKE ME I LISTEN TO MY AUDIO BOOKS IN THE CAR, WHILE AT WORK ON MY LUNCH HOUR, WHILE WORKING IN MY GARAGE/PATIO/HOUSE... PRETTY MUCH EVERYWHERE B/C I LOVE TO "READ"! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE AUDIO BOOKS THAT YOU SHOULD ONLY BE LISTENING TO W/ HEADPHONES (turned down of course), & NOT CRANKED UP ON YOUR CAR STEREO or YOUR SURROUND SOUND SPEAKERS LOCATED IN THE CEILING AT WORK DURING LUNCH (especially if you are a high school teacher like I am lol). YIKES! :o

stupid.

To much sex for me and this stupid woman went from being controlled to being controlled. This time she likes it all. I had hi hopes when I read the description. But this story was about nothing more then a willing sex slave. I couldn't finish it.

Terrible!!

Total waste of a credit. I kept waiting for the story to get better but it never did. There was barely any plot and barely any character development. I would return it but I finished the listen thinking that it must get better soon and then it was over.

WELL...THAT WAS DIFFERENT

Different...that's all I can say. A mid-evil 50 Shades!! Hmmm...
I did, however, enjoy the dual narration. I would like to hear more of that in audio books.

Sex and more sex in Scotland

A physically imprisoned, abused by her husband for 10 years escapes and travels back in time 500 years to have sex and more sex with a Scottish Lord. I did not like this book but I stayed with it trying to find a redeeming quality and not finding it. Lots of very graphic sex. Not very feministic.

Could not get passed the voice.

One of the most irritating voices I've encountered on an audiobook. The sound actually made my heart palpitate. I bet the story was good, but unless I get it on e book I will never know.

I NEED A PLANE TICKET TO SCOTLAND & A THUNDERSTORM

Well, if you're looking for a very sexy, very handsome, very Alpha 16th Century Highland Laird (and let's face it who isn't) then look no further because Logan is definitely it. American downtrodden wife Emma/flees from an abusive marriage and they live in Scotland/suddenly drawn to an old Castle/magical thunderstorm and lightning/whoosh time travel/then hey presto mistaken identity and an easy on the eyes huge Highland Laird.

This was very enjoyable, with lots of sex or sexual feelings mentioned, there is action of the non sexual kind with the invasion of a rival Clan and all that brought, lots of secrets, a few cases of wee misinformations given, some interesting secondary characters and an English King that's going to be a problem. But the main story centres around Logan and Emma as the instant magnetic chemistry makes them both aware that more is going on here and lusty Logan is determined to teach timid Emma everything he knows sexually in order to awaken her desires.... but he does this very very slowly.

Worth a credit? It's a bit light on descriptions, there are a few blanks where more info would have been nice but the H/H are both likeable, it's just a nice time travel fantasy romance then, as I was rooting for the HEA ending that was about to happen, those dreaded words "this concludes..." and I was left stunned, shaken and oh so mad because only now do I realise that it's a &£@?!%$ TRILOGY. Ok ok I'm calm again and can answer the question.... YES I'm glad I used a credit on it but be warned this is a 'headphones only' listen unless you're alone.

Porn

Could have been a good story but I'm not into porn. Won't listen to this author again. Maybe add a disclaimer so readers looking for time travel romance don't waste money or credits on graphic sexual stories they didn't want or expect.

Slow and boring

I love Highlander time travel romance, but I'd give this one a miss if you're not into erotica. I didn't realize that was the basic theme - his and her first person perspective narration. Lots of increasingly hot and interesting sex interspersed with a vague plot. Not really my type.

The audio performance was done very well. The only thing that really kept me going, truth be told. Not planning to finish the series.

Loved it

Loved the story. But can't say the same about the female narrator, she grated on my nerves. It was as though, for Logans voice, he was whispering all the time. I like Anthony Fergusons narrating very much though. It would have been much better with just him narrating. I didn't understand why they had a female and a male narrator if they both still narrated female and male voices. I would have thought that they would voice each gender respectfully, Anthony Ferguson the male voices and the female narrator the female voices. But I enjoyed the story anyway. Its very hot and steamy, just the way I like them. Love Eliza Knights books. But unfortunately the next one is with the same narrators not just Anthony Ferguson which I would have preferred.
