Just don't

This book makes you want to know what happens at the end... but the process is so painful and annoying. So you listen and you are frustrated and horrified but intrigued. The best thing to do now, is skip ahead to the last hour and find out what happens. And if you are a dog lover....

Man, I wanted to slap this woman

first of all let me say thanks to Audible I was able to complete this story. I the past and present was a little annoying, but I got used to it and was able to keep up with what was going on. this story seem like something that could not happen but I know that it could be cuz it's happening every day in home everywhere around the world and it's scary. whether I like it or not this is someone's reality, but believe me I would have been free long before she finally discovered a way out. I think her concern for her sister was just exaggerated. she gave this man too much credit and too much power over her life and I wanted her to do something I wanted her to go into a phone booth and put on her Wonder Woman outfit. I wanted her to stop being wimpy.

A BIT FAR FETCHED

...but none the less entertaining. Narration was great. Initially I found the story quite engaging and suspenseful. After the first third of the book it began to be so far fetched I no longer felt the psychological suspense. But still found it not a total loss and hung in til the end

THE BEST NOVEL SO FAR!

Where does Behind Closed Doors rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's far above them all. I read it in one day. Just couldn't turn it off.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The storyline will make a great movie. It's on a par with Julia Roberts movie Sleeping with the Enemy. This is a MUST READ and the narrator was perfect.

Any additional comments?

This book ranks ahead of any I've read in a very long time. The storyline, narrator, the vivid characters bring this story to life.

A little far fetched

First of all I almost couldn’t listen any longer after the incident with the dog. Second, I find this story very unbelievable. Most people probably wouldn’t behave like grace in that situation and I find it highly unlikely that a doctor and police officer would just dismiss her claims. Not a realistic story and kind of dragged on for way too long. The narrator was good though.

Loved the story line and I will be reading more from this author! Absolutely brilliant!

Great book. Made me stay up half the night to finish it. Highly recommend it!

COPYCAT BOOK....

What did you like best about Behind Closed Doors? What did you like least?

I liked the love shown between the two sisters. I did not like it because it is yet, another book to copy Gone Girl. It became boring.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Add something else to the story besides constant, depressing ways in which the male character takes control. I realize that is the whole purpose of a thriller, but it got boring.

What does Georgia Maguire bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a a good voice and kept me listening. I am not sure I would have keep reading it if it were in print.

Was Behind Closed Doors worth the listening time?

This book is so good and has you feeling addicted and attached in such a way. Worth listening to!

half decent lifetime movie

well, the obvious twist is revealed in the summary, so when its finally apparent there's no additional twist.......huge let down. I'm not even finished with this predictable and deplorable story. I wish Grace had a genie or a fairy god mother. Maybe that would make it more interesting. I wish I had a detailed summary if the ending. I dont, so that's why I'm still listening. It's like when you find the TV on a lifetime movie,...with different actors playing the same story,...or same actors playing a different story. So, so dull and predictable. But, you leave it on while you search through the guide. So, I'm searching for something a lot less predictable, with a few ACTUAL plot twists. OK story, just adds nothing new.
