Publisher's summary

“Your father is a sociopath.”
Her therapist’s words reveal the awful truth.
But they also offer Eva the key to breaking free.

Convinced that every negative situation—even childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her brother and others—results directly from her choices, Eva rejects any suggestion that she’s a victim of trauma.

Her narcissist father has trained her to embrace this mindset as he controls her every decision, including who she marries—a man just like him.

Trapped in this abusive marriage for nearly 10 years, Eva seeks therapy to learn how she can be a better wife.

Instead, her therapist’s insights guide her in exposing a lifetime of gaslighting. But even as she uncovers the truth about her father’s manipulation, she struggles to see anything but a loving father who wants the best for her.

Eva must unlearn the dangerous “truths” she thinks will keep her safe and accept that her father and husband are incapable of loving her.

But does God really want her to forsake her parents and spouse in order to forge a new life and heal?

Eva has only herself, her therapist, and God on her side as she makes terrifying leaps of faith into an unfamiliar world.

In Becoming Her, join Eva on her courageous journey of healing and hope.

This heartfelt book is a must-listen.

Courageous & heartfelt story

This story is courage of every kind: the courage it takes to survive abuse and abandonment, the courage to seek help and to heal, and the courage to relive the experiences to write it so that others can find understanding and compassion too. –Betsy Graziani Fasbinder, MS., MFT. Inspiring story through trials and tribulations

“Be gentle when she shows you her scars. It takes more courage to remove one’s armor, than to assemble it. “ - J. Strelou

Eva’s story is captivating and inspiring. Thankful she had the courage and confidence to share her memoir.

Captivating, inspiring story - amazing narration!

This book is for anyone who needs to hear that they are not alone and needs encouragement to keep going and never give up! I finished listening to it in one day! I could feel every word in my heart. I laughed with her and cried with her.

I find it rare and inspiring to listen to someone's life observations that are described with such clarity. It’s not about the usual emotions and self-referencing found in a memoir. I like memoirs and I enjoy all the lessons and distinct revelations of personality.

Eva reveals herself in a raw, emotional, honest, and relatable way. The truth in her words and insights are inspiring and she does a wonderful job describing complex emotions.

This is a story that needed to be told!
