Catherine Cowles is a new author that I discovered while searching for something new to read (because I was in a book funk) and boy, am I glad I stumbled upon this series! These romantic suspense stories that take place in a small town settings filled with charm, sexy times, humor, friendship, and secrets are worth every credit spent. One of the best things for me in each of the stories is the feisty grandmother meddling and imparting her special brand of wisdom. Maxine Mitchell is a narrator that took a very long time to grow on me but she has won me over to her special brand of narration and she’s done an excellent job with this audiobook. Aaron Shedlock’s narration was good as well. He’s not as emotionally sound when performing the female voices but he delivers on the male versions of characters. I look forward to listening to the remaining books in the series 👏🏾😍🥰

Great story

So much better than the first book in this series! It was a great story with enjoyable characters!

This book forever stands out in my mind from all of Catherine’s books! I loved it when I read it and listening to it brought it to life in a different way! I love Tessa and Liam!

Heartfelt

Throughly enjoying the series. Can be read separately and reconnects with previous characters. Loved the MMC’s compassion and understanding. This book had mystery, family togetherness, love and a HEA.

Perfect Performance

Aaron Shedlock and Maxine Mitchell are an incredible duo and for this second book of this series it was really great.
It was so powerful and I enjoyed every second of it.

This story is everything!

I devoured this book. I was completely consumed by the gorgeous storytelling and the carefully crafted suspense in every page. Tessa, scarred by her past and running toward a better life finds Liam, a singer/songwriter looking for respite and bumping into a woman he can’t get out of his head. Their love story is everything! Longing, a little angst, chemistry, fire and some excellent banter had me wishing this book wouldn’t end. Loved!!

I can't believe this series keeps getting better if possible. This is a beautiful story that gives you everything you need in a story. I love it all. The narrators once again gives the listener so much emotion. if I could give more than 5 stars it would be fine.

Romantic suspense with a rockstar

Romantic suspense with a swoon worthy rock star? Yes, please!
I just loved Beautifully Broken Life... romantic suspense and rock stars are two of my favorite things. Liam and Tessa are wonderful together. Catherine has a way of writing beautifully broken characters and putting their hearts back together. This series is becoming one of my favorite series ever. As expected Maxine and Aaron added a whole other dimension to the story.

Love this Small-Town Romance!

I was so curious to know more about Liam and Tessa, whom we met in Book 1, so I was so excited to dive into their story. Tessa has lived in Sutter Lake for 2 years and works at the The Kettle. She keeps to herself as she tries to keep a quiet life. Liam is a musician looking to clear his head and get his inspiration back for his music. Tessa runs into Liam one day and little by little her life begins to change. Liam is drawn to Tessa, but knows she needs a friend more than anything. I loved the connection these two had. My heart broke for Tessa and all that she went through. She has had such a hard life. Liam is looking for his muse. I love how Liam was drawn to Tessa's broken-ness. He made me swoon multiple times. Liam was so good with Tessa and what she needed. How he guided her, taught her and helped her flourish touched my heart. Liam truly is the perfect guy for Tessa. I loved seeing Taylor and Walker as well as Jensen, Noah and the Cole family. I'm soooo excited for Jensen and Tuck next! The audiobook by Maxine Mitchell and Aaron Shedlock was done really well. I thought they brought both characters to life perfectly.

I loved Liam and Tessa’s story. Tessa suffered a lot in her life and was forced to live a secretive life. Liam is a musician dealing with Hollywood and needs an escape from it all. He and Tessa meet and sparks go off. I loved here how these two connected and how they dealt with the issues they both had. I loved how much Liam loved and cared for Tessa. Sometimes you need someone put you back together when you are broken. Lovely ending and I can’t wait now for Jensen and Tuckers story.
