the narrator did a good job bringing the book to life I would definitely recommend.

Great story with great themes

You might argue that the lead, Carlyle, is a bit of a Mary Sur, but the story and performance are engaging. It’s a fun listen.

Good Story, Great Performance!

These books keep getting better and better. Some nice audio special effects like electronics, gun fire, and singing. Good use of voices. An interesting plot.

long time Battletech fan

while it took me a while to listen: loosing the job you had the time to listen to it, it was still a very enjoyable listen.

Great listen

Having just finished the currently available Ciaphus Cain audiobooks, was looking for another quality sci-fi storyline to escape to in the off hours. I've literally played almost every MechWarrior game that's been released, from the 5" floppy disc to the most current offering mw5. Haven't played the Battletech turn based one yet, although I've watched Tex play it and it looks like a good time 😆 when I was a kid in the early 90s I remember begging my parents to get me Legos for every conceivable gift producing event, inevitably the instruction booklet would be tossed to the side and I'd evaluate my latest haul of 'Mech parts 😆 I had a battalion/cluster at least, and two stars of elementals. Anyhow had piles of the Battletech books too. Nerd! Been stuck on 40k for a good while, really enjoyed the narration, background effects, and the story. The story arc gives a nice spread on the lore too, touches on various eras and such. Great listen, nice to get back into Battletech after decades away from the books.

All of it! The narration is great and I want more audiobooks from the world of BattleTech!

As good a listen as it was a read.

I enjoyed listening to this audio book series as much as I enjoyed reading it when it first came out.

Great finish for a trilogy!

Narrator was fantastic! Memorable & moving when the regimen sang in support of their young commander. Battle scenes were gripping and you felt you were in the middle of the action. The story twisted and turned, who was friend or foe? I was on the edge of my seat wondering how Greyson was going to pull the Grey Death out of the trap that had all odds stacked against them.

Sets the stage for so much more

If you want to understand the rest of the fiction this helps set the stage in great ways for almost every facet of the Inner Sphere, in at least small part.
