Publisher's Summary

Battle Lines is the fifth book in Dr. Bradley's Survivalist series. Series Order: Frontier Justice, Anarchy Rising, Judgment Day, Madness Rules, Battle Lines, and Finest Hour.

Description: Convinced that a militia leader holds the key to finally exacting justice, Deputy Marshal Mason Raines enters the destroyed city of Lexington. Traveling with the unlikeliest of allies, he must confront mutated survivors of the Superpox-99 virus as well as an elite group of military assassins sent to clean up evidence of President Pike's crimes.

Meanwhile, Tanner and Samantha discover that their Naval Observatory hideaway isn't as safe as they would have liked to believe. Forced to once again travel the roads, they face all new threats, including bloodthirsty animals, and survivalists with a twisted system of justice. When they come face-to-face with patient zero, not only does the origin of the virus become clear but also a glimmer of hope for mankind's last survivors.

With sanity continuing to slip away, President Pike orders the abduction and murder of General Carr. As plans falter and allies depart, he is forced to accept that a larger showdown is coming. Battle lines are being drawn, and in the end, only the most ruthless will be left standing.

Love this series

I simply can't get enough of this fiction series. What a story. The end of this installment is the only disappointing moment.

This is the best SHTF series in my opinion

Would you listen to Battle Lines again? Why?

I just love this series. I really do. Good wins (or indications are that it will...with or without the death of the protagonists, we shall see). Great characters. Realistic situations. I have listened to dozens (sad, isn't it??) of this genre and I can't think of any that come close...maybe Day-by-Day, but not really. Just the best.

This is a great series!!!

What made the experience of listening to Battle Lines the most enjoyable?

Action packed keeps you glued to the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like all the characters each has a vital role in the story,But tanner is my favorite.

What does John David Farrell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is just a great narrator good distinction between characters and great thru the action parts of the story this book would NOT be the same with out him.

Any additional comments?

Great entertainment!!!

I love this series.

I have read around a 100 post apocalyptic novels and this series definitely makes my top ten if not top five. Can't wait to find out how it ends.

The plot is kinda thin and not very plausible.

I really hate unrealistic fight scenes, and there are several in this book as well as this entire series. Most of the time it is the Marshall that is totally ignorant and foolish. In this book specifically it is the fight wit Tanner, Sam and the pedophile ring in the cornfields. The has NOT been trained on how to fire an AR 15? Yet Tanner has trained her in the use of the most common weapons and weapons small enough she can safely handle them. Yet he has not trained her on the AR 15 or the M16-A2 Service Rifle? That would be FIRST firearm you would train a small female to use. It weighs 7 pounds and barely kicks. It was designed to be lightweight, yet tough, easy to use, and simple to chamber a round and fire. The characters in this series are extreme cowards and totally clueless, lacking ALL COMMON SENSE. The main characters are always letting their minds wonder somewhere in outer space when they should be concentrating on their mission. Its not worth a credit. It is a foolish book and not very entertaining.

It has been a while since I read this series and I noticed I had not rated all the books. This was a good dystopian sires that kept my interest. Not great but good.

Outstanding series. I can't stop listening!

Episode 5 was as fresh and exciting as the previous four books. I look forward to the continuation of this epic tale in book six. Onward!

Highly recommend this series

Dr. Arthur Bradley does an excellent job bringing different pieces of the story together. This book is fast-paced and packed with action, while bringing out a variety of emotions. I love the characters! Their characteristics are so well defined, I feel like I know them and could predict their actions. Excellent addition to the series.

John David Farrell is perfect for this book. His narration style, inflection, voice and accents are spot on; he definitely adds to the story.
