Publisher's summary

I’m a bodyguard and far from ideal boyfriend material, but agreeing to this fake dating scheme might be the best bad deal I’ve ever made….

I’m a fixer. As a SEAL chief, I succeeded in impossible no-win situations. Now I’m retired and determined to improve the lives of my former military teammates through our Hollywood security firm. Plus, I get to guard intriguing people like Ambrose Sterling, creator of one of my favorite TV shows.

Of course, I want to keep Ambrose safe. When he’s attacked, I leap into action to save him and his scrappy little therapy dog.

But my good deed results in a coastal road trip with me pretending to be Ambrose’s boyfriend to keep him out of more danger.

I don’t do relationships, and I’ve never thought about dating a man before, but here I am, sizzling with every touch and dreaming about more stolen kisses.

Each night of white-hot passion brings us closer to an unbreakable bond. But I’m blue-collar, and Ambrose is Hollywood elite. I want a happy ending more than anything. Can I turn this fake boyfriend gig into the real thing, or am I just a guest star?

Bad Deal is book three in the A-List Security series. It features a highly protective SEAL bodyguard, a suit-wearing silver fox, an adorably ugly dog, and all sorts of brand-new emotions. Get ready for all the high heat, big feels, and found family feels listeners expect from this fan-favorite military romance author. Join A-List Security for this lower-angst series featuring former SEALs and the celebrity clients who win their hearts. Happy endings and no cliff-hangers guaranteed!

Great addition to this series!

This third installment in this series was a great addition to this series! Ambrose and Harley made a great couple and a great read.

Ambrose, a TV creator with anxiety issues is not the normal security assignment that Harley is used to. He is attacked while leaving the set one night and being saved by Harley. In a series of events that take place after the attack, he then finds himself with Harley being his fake boyfriend for a family event.

Harley, a former SEAL is working security on the set of Ambrose's show. He finds himself saving Ambrose after his attack but then has a hard time leaving him and his support pet Hercules. He has experience with PTSD which is helpful to Ambrose's anxiety issues.

The narration performed by Kirt Graves was performed well making this an enjoyable listening experience. He did a great job bringing both characters to life.

This was a great story and a enjoyable read as this pair has a slow burn story that showed off the amazing chemistry that was between them. Their interactions seemed real and believable making their story that much better. Overall, this was a great story that I enjoyed from start to finish that I would recommend to others.

Love after 40

I loved the idea of an older couple situation. The story was more romantic by using subtle turn ons like kissing rather than full on sex. Even watching porn together to know what each other liked was such a genuine way to bond before jumping into bed.
This book didn’t use any love triangle or past loves in the mix. It was a man meets man and finds how each other completes the other. Harley being PAN and coming out was an original sub storyline that needs to be told just as gay men and women come out. There are so many types that all go through their identity reveal to their friends and family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Finally the narration!

Kirt finally delivered the narration of this sweet tale! I have previously struggled with connecting with the characters because the characters were very sluggish and monotone. Still, the storyline kept me moving forward, and I am so happy I did! There were distinct differences between the characters, both personality and demeanor. There were so many emotions from all surfaces and Hercules! Too bad he couldn't speak.

The storyline had so much more potential than what was presented. There were times I felt Harley could have been given more time to sort through his feelings, not necessarily saying he was forced, but there were moments Ambrose’s impatience overrode Harley’s needs. I am happy they have their HEA, and Ambrose was sucha stimulating addition to the gang.

Great addition to the series

While completely enjoyable with great characters and a storyline that will have the listener sighing with happiness, I absolutely loved how Annabeth Albert dealt with not only PTSD and anxiety, but a realization that love is just love and it does not matter which gender that love comes from. Both Harley and Ambrosse will hook the listener in from the opening lines and their romance was just a joy to hear. Once again Annabeth Albert proves the MM romance is in her wheelhouse but with this story she has also mastered the human emotion as well. Kirt Graves brought these characters to life and was a perfect narrator for the story.

9/10

This is a very nice novel, it makes you feel good about two normal guys.

What a difference between book 1 and 3. It’s good you can go to book two and 3. And forget book one. And the two stories don’t need one.

My favorite of the series so far

Harley and Ambrose are EVERYTHING! Their chemistry is instantly scorching but they are so sweet together. Even if Harley is trying to ignore it. He really is a big softy who loves to care for people. I knew I would love him from the first two books and I wasn’t wrong! And Ambrose desperately needs someone who won’t judge him for who he is and his mental health issues. These characters were so well written and I loved every word of this book. The author truly handled Ambrose’s anxiety and panic issues with dignity and grace, well as much dignity as they can be afforded. Mental health issues are not to be taken lightly and I loved how she did it. With close family that deal with high levels of functioning anxiety, I felt it was very well treated. Also, Hercules is awesome. Ambrose and Harley were never a fake anything. I admit, this is one of my favorite tropes and the author certainly did it justice. This book was amazing. I have loved all of them but I honestly think this one is my favorite and Kirt Graves absolutely nailed it with his narration. He is such a great narrator and added so much to the story.

A security guard with a tender heart…

Meets an anxious Hollywood director and nothing goes as planned from the start! Annabeth Albert writes another book full of humor, heat, and heart, and Kirt Graves gives voice to it perfectly. Happy listening.

Wonderful Book!

I had been eagerly waiting for this book, and it definitely lived up to expectations, probably even surpassing them! I loved it!

Bad Deal is book 3 in the A-List security series. This book features Harley and a new character Ambrose. We get appearances from Cash And Danny as well as Duncan and Ezra from the first two books. This book features one of my favorite tropes, the fake boyfriend trope. I also appreciated the cameo of Rainbow Cove (from that series). This book gave me all the Feels!!

It was wonderful to see Harley's journey, both in self acceptance as well as opening up and letting us see the softer side of him. I liked him even more for the vulnerability he showed. I could relate to his journey.

It was amazing to meet Ambrose, someone new but just as endearing. It was great to see him pushing through his issues as well. I could relate a lot to him. I also appreciated the fact that both characters are in their 40s, something we don't get to see a lot of in romance.

Overall, this is well done and I was hooked from the start! I highly recommend it!
