Home is where the heart is...at least that's what they say.
Rob has made a home for himself in Olimero. Now, he finds himself entangled in events outside of the town he has made his own. A tournament, rival gangs, jealous gods, and an expanding family—it's a lot for one man to juggle, especially as his wives each have their own interests.
What's a guy to do?

Narration: Superb as always. Daniel and Rebecca are two of the best in the business. They aren't just narrators, they are true voice actors.
Story: Lets be frank, this genre isn't the most highly regarded in literature. It's a niche market and should be judged by that standard. In that regard, the series is about on par with most of the rest of the offerings in the genre. However the story has begun to decline, mostly because of the main character (MC).
He stated off as a mostly decent guy, thrust into a strange world. The classic stranger in a strange land trope that's been around since Mark Twain with his Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and popularized in anime and manga as "Isekai". Personally I feel that trope is VASTLY over utilized in this genre but I recognize that is my personal feelings.
So Rob our hero starts off as a more or less decent guy, if a bit on the stupid side. He is also steadfastly arrogant though he doesn't recognize it, not truly. That is seen time and again when he realized his moral values, traditions, laws and such are entirely from his world and so he is the outsider and stranger. A reasonably intelligent person would recognize that and adapt themselves yo the culture they are in, rather than demand everyone conform to them. At times he even realizes just how ego centric he is being...right before he keeps doing it anyways.
That trait was tolerable but with each new book, as his power continues to grow, he has become more and more of the classic arrogant jerk. It's his way or the highway, no problem exists he can't defeat with brute force and his will to make everything how he sees fit. Worse, he can't even be consistent. He has also picked a new horrible character trait; capriciousness.
He demonstrates that frequently. One example is how he is so frustrated with people deferring to him, being afraid of him for his power. He wants people to joke with him yet when one of his most trusted aides does just that, makes a well intentioned joke about him and his wives, he near completely losses his temper. He does completely lose his composure, threatening to kill the elderly woman.
I'm not sure if I will continue with the series. It seems clear his character arc will be to become even more arrogant, egotistical, capricious and generally unlikable. I won't return the books for a refund but I won't be spending another credit on the series unless the reviews make it clear his character changes and becomes someone I can cheer for instead of despise.
Starting to decline
