Publisher's summary

Baby-led weaning is the healthy, natural way to start your baby on solid foods - no stress, no fuss, no mush!

Ten years ago, Baby-Led Weaning ended the myth that babies need to be spoon-fed purees. In fact, at about six months, most babies are ready to discover solid food for themselves. Today, baby-led weaning (BLW) is a global phenomenon - and this 10th anniversary edition of the definitive guide explains all its benefits:

  • Baby participates in family meals right from the start, and learns to love a variety of foods.
  • Nutritious milk feedings continue while Baby transitions to solids at his or her own pace.
  • By self-feeding, Baby develops hand-eye coordination, chewing skills - and confidence!

Plus, this edition is updated with the latest research on allergy prevention and feeding Baby safely, a guide to using BLW at daycare, and much more. Here is everything you need to know about teaching your child healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.

Great information. A wealth of knowledge!

A great book. Easy to understand. A great way to learn how to feed my baby that's coming in 2020! There is a "manual" for feeding babies in a way that just makes sense.

Helpful/Some Outdated Info

Helpful information regarding Baby Led Weaning. Some of the nutrition advice is outdated. For better nutrition advice for early eaters I prefer Lily Nichols' blog/website.

Transitioning into Solids

Loved the easy to listen to format of this book and the confidence it gave me to transition my little one to beginning solids! Also really enjoyed learning the background and reasoning for BLW.

very comprehensive

great topic, super excited to get started when my little one is 6 months old. only criticism is there is way too much repetitive information and background. Took too long to get to what I needed to know right now.

Love the BLW approach!

Great narration. The book is not very informative toward vegetarian and vegan diets, but I was glad to hear it at least mentions them.

Boring

This book was not helpful at all. It was a ton of personalized stories. It did not break down BLW whatsoever. I seriously wasted so much time listening to this. Don't do it.

Read with a grain of salt

Great job at describing BLW, giving ideas of how to start. But the book was very bias and I did not like that approach.

Painfully unscientific!

If I had the book in front of me and highlighted every time a point was made to prove the value of BLM that was clearly conjecture I would go through a full pen in the first two chapters alone.
BLM is just another option for feeding and should be seen as that. Not the best way or the right way. There is zero evidence or study that proves anything to the contrary. Unfortunately this books sells it as if it is clearly the best option. It’s is not. It is just another option and most, if not all, the “benefits” of the method can be gained through spoonfeeding.

Great Reader so so content

Loved the person who read the book, great cadence and voice however i didnt find the content pf the book that useful. It was very “encouraging” with all of the interspersed personal stories but didnt provide the type of
Guidance i was looking for. A lot of common sense stuff but then again maybe im looking for
Too much? Baby lead weaning is a lot of common sense too i guess. Last chapter most useful about what is good nutrition but i Wouldnt buy the book to
Get to
That because that info can be found elsewhere and free
