Daily Boost Podcast So Good They Can't Ignore You: How to Sell Without Selling November 6, 2026 | Episode 5585 Host: Scott Smith Go beyond the boost! Join my Skool group at https://faceyourpassion.com. Episode Description You're selling all day, every day. Your ideas, yourself, your next move. Don't run and hide. A lot of people figure out what they want to do with their lives and then stall because they can't sell it. They decide they need a business, then freeze at the word sales. Today I'm flipping that. Steve Martin told performers to be so good they can't ignore you. I'll show you why that's the first step in sales, what a lifetime in radio taught me about marketing, and how Tesla sold me a car without selling. Build something people love. Featured Story I asked for a demo ride in a Tesla. The guy said he'd check if they had one. Then we walked out front, he tapped his phone, and the car drove itself up to us. We drove about three miles. He showed me full self-driving and took me back to the store. Then he got out and said, " See you in an hour. Have some fun. So I did. I pushed the button and let it drive. When I came back, I said We're buying this car. I'd never owned an EV. It broke every rule I'd ever known about buying a car. He barely sold me anything. Important Points * Everything is sales. You're persuading someone every day, so accept it and get good at selling yourself and your ideas. * Be so good they can't ignore you. When you stop doing what you do best, people stop listening, and the money slows down. * Great marketing makes selling almost unneeded. A dynamic demonstration lets people fall in love before you ever ask. Memorable Quotes * Everything in life is sales. It doesn't have to be money, but every day you're selling or buying something. * I get in trouble when I try not to do what I do best. That's when people stop listening to the whole thing. * I know what I do. I do it as well as I can. If I keep doing that, it keeps working. Be so good they can't ignore you. Scott's Three-Step Approach * Pick the one thing you do better than almost anyone and decide that's what your business or your work is built on. * Make it so good your customer falls in love with it. Not everybody will. Build it for the people who get it right away. * Then show it instead of pitching it. Give people a demo, a taste, or a test drive, and let the work close the sale.
