This one was very disappointing

Jagger Cole is great but this story fell flat in many respects. The story and the characters were cringe. None of them were very likable. Kier was a fantastic character in other books but this one did not capture his personality as well as the others did. I would also add this male narrator contributed to that. For a man who works and lives in the underworld he came off as weak and a bit pathetic (example, speaking to Russian Bratva about his love for main character and the apologies). The main female character, narrated by Chloe Ryan (one of my favorite narrators) played a foul-mouthed ballerina who was also very hard to like. What’s more, I am far from a prude but the female character is constantly being sexually assaulted by men and while Kier knows this, he still uses her for sex (even before they have intercourse). I also felt that many of the chapters repeated what was previously covered. Honestly, it didn’t even seem like this was the same author that wrote the momenta mori series.
