I made a plan to get mated to a werewolf for my own safety—and nearly got myself killed.

Apparently, shifting isn't easy for everyone. Me, being everyone.

After I narrowly survive becoming a wolf, I have to marry this man I barely know.

But he's funny.

And thoughtful.

And yes, I'm starting to like him more with every minute we spend together.

I know there's no way out now, but honestly?

I'm starting to think that this connection between us really was decided by fate

This is a short, spicy romantic novella with a happily ever after.

This one was my least favorite of the series unfortunately. I had been listening and hadn't retained anything and for me that is unusual. It didnt grip me, didnt hold my attention. I am not sure why this one didnt resonate with me like the others did. I had to relisten to the whole thing the next day because I couldn't remember what had happened. The 2nd time around was better but still would give this 3.5 stars instead of the usually 4 or 5 stars like the others in the series was getting from me.

As an engineer, I can appreciate the logic and planning Zoe did ahead of the book club and how she needed to get everything done so her parents could get out of her life in the controlling manner that they had pushed on her. I do think this one didnt flow as well and I wish the big things I was interested to learn about and see/hear in the book wasn't rushed/brushed over. I hadn't experienced that in the other books to this point which is why this got the lowest rating of the bunch.

I loved Connor and how golden retriever he was. He was so new to everything and wanted to make sure he did it right and not pressure her. I loved he just walked away from her before he went too far hahaha. I thought he was a great character but I didnt feel the chemistry as much with Zoe and him. I did like how he was behind her the entire time, the list making was freaking adorable, and making sure she was happy while also making sure he vocalized his wants/needs. It was a very wholesome storyline and I was happy to see them stick it to her family at the end haha. Again I had wanted for this big wedding and confrontation and it was blown over I thought. The others had a more engaging storyline and I didnt feel jipped but I felt like it was very anticlimactic for this one.

Narration was good though, I liked both of them performing their characters. Again usually if the story is a little stagnant the narrators can bring it back and help keep it to a 4 star but it didnt happen here, nothing against them. If the story had been fleshed out just a tad more, so we could feel Zoe's anxiety and panic attacks, for example, I know the narrators would have done a great job. I would give them a 4 stars and the story a 3 stars but the story to me had so much potential and fell flat, so I rounded down. I would still recommend this series, but this one was the weakest of the bunch so far. I can't wait to listen to the final book after we got Ethan and Maya's introduction in here with their glasses hahaha. I am so excited for that one!

My least favorite unfortunately
