The Reaction

Book 2 in The Reflex Series

By: Maria Denison

Narrated by: Tara Langella

Some secrets change everything. Others only reveal how much remains hidden.

Cara Andre and those closest to her have entered a world where the boundaries between the explainable and the impossible are no longer as clear as they once seemed. Questions multiply. Relationships shift. Trust becomes increasingly complicated. And Cara's growing gang of misfits finds itself drawn deeper into forces none of them fully understands.

As old secrets collide with new dangers, extraordinary abilities bring extraordinary consequences. Espionage, conspiracy, loyalty, desire, and betrayal become increasingly entangled, forcing Cara and her unlikely allies to confront not only what is happening around them, but what may be changing within them.

Suspenseful, provocative, and frequently funny, The Reaction expands the world of The Reflex while pushing its characters into increasingly unfamiliar territory, where understanding the truth may prove every bit as dangerous as uncovering it.

The Reaction is Book 2 of The Reflex series and is not intended to be listened to as a standalone.

Interesting Story!

The Reaction is a continuation of The Reflex and I enjoyed getting to dive a bit deeper into the past and present of these characters and to learn more about their dynamic and how it came to be. Learning more about their gifts as they work to hone their skills is enjoyable and I liked their interactions with others who had similar supernatural talents and how they are able to work together. There are secrets, espionage, and deep emotions within this story.

There is still so much more to come from these characters and it'll be an interesting ride.

On audio, Tara Langella did an incredible job again voicing each of these characters in a distinc way. Her narration is truly impressive.
