Set in a realm of elemental clans and long-sleeping dragons, Elemental Awakening follows a young woman's rise from survivor to Spiritborn—the realm's most dangerous legend—and the warlord she was never meant to love.

When 23-year-old Amara Thalor awakens her elemental powers during a brutal Shadow Force attack, she's named the Spiritborn: a prophesied wielder of all four elements. But power alone isn't enough—not in a realm where dragons refuse to bond, the magical wards are crumbling, and an ancient force stirs beneath the surface. Training under Thane Caelum, the realm's war-hardened Warlord, Amara discovers a bond that defies history—and truths that could fracture the world once more. The only way forward might cost her everything…including him.

Elemental Awakening can stand alone but is designed as the first in a four-book series titled Echoes of Lumoria. It will appeal to fans of Fourth Wing , Throne of Glass , and The Plated Prisoner —readers who crave high-stakes magic, slow-burn romance, and dragons with something to say. Narrated in duet style.

I thought the main heto and heroine were never going to get it together and it was mainly her fault! She needed a stable bond to calm her down and bonding with a dragon made sense to me before it even happened… in Chapter 19!! I think Lyra had more common sense than anyone and so funny. Kieran was also so likeable but he came on so quickly I felt like he was a spy or planted to get the inside scoop for someone powerful. Maybe there’s a story there.

The slow burn was almost too slow

Absolutely love the storyline. This had a great set up and interesting back story, but there are some issues. Some repetition of phrasing that got to me at times. There was not enough depth in certain relationships, or development. Like with the main characters and the Brothers. The mention of history, but a total lack of development with the FMC, and then it talks about how important they are with limited interaction between them and the FMC. Where was the time, banter, or learning between them?? Should have been more on other relationships, with dragons, supporting characters, etc. Way to much description and not enough depth between them. The filler, and unnecessary length of things dragged at some points. There are some repetitive descriptions, contradictory feelings, etc. Like when she says she realizes something, only for her to be right back to complete ignorance a couple of lines later. I get the tension and resistance, but some of it didn't seem cohesive at all. Like why keep saying you get it only to be oblivious 2 seconds later?? There is a clear difference between confused or resistant, and oblivious, and you can't jump from understanding to total ignorance just like that. I also have to mention the constant awe, and amazement with the FMC, but can we not make everyone a simp??? I will listen to book 2, and see how this plays out from there.

I personally loved the voice actors and performance with dual narration.

Great Storyline, but......

The Echoes of Lumoria, Book 1: Elemental Awakening, has amazing world building; and the strongest relationships but the best slow burn I think I have read to date!
The slow burn and yearning between Amara and Thane is nothing short of a work of art…I was so absolutely hanging on the edge waiting for these two to recognize their feelings! You get magic, dragons, family, bonds, friendship and soul crushing love in one story and it does not disappoint! I would highly recommend and I can’t wait for the next installment of the Lumoria world. Narrators Gabriel Michael and Jessica Threet did an amazing job at making these characters come alive and seem so much more realistic…I would listen to anything they narrate!! I am honored to have received this audiobook for free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review and highly recommend this book!

Dragons & Magics

Fated Love, Proximity, training for battle and magic, dragon riders, unique elemental magic (avatar wind bender vibes). First half is very heavy focus on training and her mental battle of her new life. There is a horse shit scene that had me laughing so hard. True YURN for 60% book. Last is alot of plot twists. Narrators did great job!

nice blend

when I initially read the summary of the story, and they referenced that the intensity, grit and pace of it all is of and or similar to Forth Wing/ Direbound, i was Super excited, especially since it was supposedly a "action/adventure" kind of story, I was under the impression that it was going to be like that all throughout the story, but unfortunately, this particular story did NOT live up to the hype, I feel like I wasted my time and credit... The indecisiveness and emotional roller-coaster of the FMC , gave me whiplash, I can understand, giving her grace to grive the loss of her parents, buy when it came to a relationship, it gave me pause cus at first, it didn't seem like she was interested into the MMC, I honestly felt she had more in common/was attracted to the water clan man that she danced wit vs the War Lord smh, I honestly didn't feel the chemistry between the FMC & MMC, ig the build up of it all took entirely too long with really no resolve , nor did it really end of a grasp of a cliff hanger, I just felt like somewhat disconnected and was ready to finish the story...

Somewhat DISAPPOINTED 😞
