Meet the two-person studio quietly building 3D work for some of the biggest brands in the game — without an office, and without seeing each other more than a few times a year. Tristan and Marius, co-founders of Tactyc Studio, sit down to talk origin stories, the reality of gen AI on client projects, and why the tools matter a lot less than the eye you train to use them.

Marius is a co-founder of Tactyc Studio and a 3D generalist whose path into the industry started almost by accident — a cracked After Effects install found through a torrented game as a teenager led him through TV motion design, Cinema 4D, and eventually Houdini.

Tristan is the other co-founder of Tactyc Studio. He studied communication design with dreams of becoming a character animator, trained in traditional animation techniques abroad, and pivoted into technical 3D and motion design before reuniting with Marius years later to build the studio.
