  • Affectionate Discourse Oratorio Tangram: Episode 12: Breakpoint
    Nov 4 2026

After a long delay, during which he played a lot of Breakpoint, Tony Coles returns to talk about a much-maligned game that he considers one of the best of its generation and one of the very best of its genre. Tony tries to justify this in a sustained assault on your attention span, but in doing so covers off his history with tactical shooters and gives and awful lot of advice on how to get going in Breakpoint in its most rewarding configuration, and how a pro-spec veteran player gets his shootin' and stealthin' on.

Later on, Tony makes outrageous claims about Tesco's retail warehousing and discounting policies and drops a C-bomb in a heated passage about Ghost Recon Wildlands, one of the most accidentally awful videogames ever made.

  • Affectionate Discourse Oratorio Tangram Episode 11: PlayStation 2 with Mark Sorrell
    Sep 9 2026

Finally, Tony Coles manages to pin someone down and interrogate them at length about Tony's morally grey and legally dubious PlayStation 2. First off it's returning guest Mark Sorrell, who worked on a real and genuine PlayStation 2 magazine in period and therefore couldn't be a better candidate for the format's debut. Suitably meandering, entirely as intended, they talk about lots of gaming things while Tony struggles to maintain the format's structure and in doing so, interrupts Mark far too many times. Still, it's probably all worth it in the end. Please note: our chat is rammed with factual errors caused by age, drugs and incompetence so please feel free to get in touch if you want to add any corrections and I'll issue a full and frank apology for every single one.
