I’ve listened to the entire series, so this review reflects the full journey—especially for those wondering if it’s worth investing in all the books. I’ll admit, the cover initially threw me off—but don’t let that deter you. This series is absolutely worth the listen.

It’s an incredibly fun ride, balancing a strong overarching plot with a well-developed why-choose romance that unfolds naturally between the FMC and her mates. What I appreciated most is that each book isn’t simply dedicated to bonding with one mate at a time. The relationships overlap and evolve in a more organic way than many other series in this genre.

The FMC is a well-written, strong shifter who comes from a background of poverty, trauma, and abuse—but rather than making her bitter or bratty, those experiences shape her into a grounded, level-headed character. She grows steadily throughout the series. She’s not placed on an unrealistic pedestal; instead, her journey is about discovering her calling and her mates while becoming stronger in the process.

The MMCs are powerful in their own right, but none are overly domineering, cruel, or reject-the-mate dramatic. There’s no unnecessary bullying trope here. Each one prioritizes her in different ways, and they all bring unique strengths to the relationship dynamic.

One unexpected bonus? I’ve now added a whole new collection of creative Southern insults to my vocabulary. The witty name-calling and playful word choices were hilarious. The narration truly elevated the experience—the Southern accents felt authentic, and the narrator did an excellent job differentiating between all five main male characters.

Plot-wise, the story centers around corrupt shifter leadership and the effort to dismantle long-standing abuse of power across various packs. There’s a subtle thread of magic woven throughout—references to covens and witches—but the primary focus remains on shifter politics and rooting out corruption.

Overall, I highly recommend listening to the full series. It was engaging, entertaining, and a genuinely enjoyable journey from start to finish.
