Secrets lie buried in the rubble. Someone will kill to keep them there.

After years of working in the family construction business, attorney Mason Pierce starts his legal career with a powerful Michigan firm. When a crowded patio on the back of an old restaurant collapses, Mason's new firm decides he's the perfect attorney to defend the owner and figure out what went wrong.

With his client facing multiple counts of manslaughter and a massive civil suit, Mason investigates, as an angry prosecutor and an opportunistic plaintiff's lawyer fight him at every step. Helped by a tenacious expert and his old construction crew, Mason soon discovers that there was more to the tragic accident than a simple collapse, uncovering a decades-old mystery in the wreckage.

As Mason sifts through the rubble for the truth, ruthless forces converge to keep it buried. And when someone he loves pays the price for his investigation, Mason must find a way to defend his client and protect his family—even if it costs him his career.

The Concrete Alibi is the first book in the Mason Pierce Series. If you like legal intrigue with jolts of action, you'll love this propulsive legal thriller from Michael Stagg.

This was a good book, and the narrator is always fantastic. However, without giving spoilers there was a pretty big plot hole that suddenly fixes itself out of nowhere. Because of the author and the narrator, I'll give the second book of the series a chance when it comes out but this was more of a 6.75/10 instead of the usual 8.5/10

It's good but it's not Nate Shepherd series good.

i loved it - loved the cross-over references and old cases, loved the new hero and his extended family, the morally compromised professionals, the very bad bad guys ...and thank God Narrator George is back.

as great as the old series

Michael Stagg does not disappoint in this new
series. Great book! You know it’s good when you can’t wait for it to end to see how it ends but just as sad that it’s over. Enjoy!!

My new favorite author!

Found myself sitting in the car in my driveway until suitable stopping places - that hasn’t happened in quite a while. If you’re a fan of the Nate Shepherd series, this will absolutely be right up your alley. George Newbern solidified his position as my favorite reader since early Dick Hill on Jack Reacher.

Do yourself a favor & don’t miss this one!

Can’t wait for the next one in this series.

Outstanding First of a New Series!

The first part was boring to me, I had put the book aside for awhile. But I don’t like to leave a book I finished so I started listening again. The last third got very interesting, a good who done what . The end was good so I might get the second book.

The last third
