That it was a Michael Connelly book

I’m a huge Michael Connelly fan and have read and listened to every book he has ever written.
I was disappointed in this latest book.
The characters were unlikable
and it reminded me of a regurgitated short story that he written years ago set in Catalina.
Connelly is still the best of the best in crime writing. I will always buy his books but this one was not his best.
The girlfriend was cringe worthy.

Not Harry Bosch by a long shot

This must be a very early effort by this author as the plot is creaky and dialogue formulaic. The poor performance doesn't help. Character development is poor and the "plot" unfolds in a very awkward manner. Skip this and skip the disappointment.

The Safeman was a much better book.

Not Author’s best

Slightly boring and predictable. Narrator, as usual, was excellent. Started out well and went downhill from there.

well told story

A well written story with good suspense. good character development and great narration. thumbs up

New series. Hopefully

Story was superb. Mr. Connolly was excited about this new character like the early Bosch and Mickey Haller series. Can’t wait for next install.
